  • I agree with 'jonesin_am'. This is a lifestyle change. Work through it day by day. I cannot completely give up chocolate, I KNOW this. So I compensate for it. I am over 50 yrs old and have tried every 'diet' in the world. But I want my last diet to be the last one I ever try. Now I live for the moment. A wise friend once…
  • I am sorry you have these issues. I hope you find a positive way to work through them. In the end, you need to do what's best for you! For the kids, they'll respect you for it.
  • Wow.....I am so bad at running. My motto for running is away from danger and toward chocolate only! Congrats!!!
  • This was VERY helpful, thank you. The only comment I have, is that when taking stool softeners, I get very gassy and sometimes bloated. I am going to try to find the Smooth Move Tea (if anyone knows where to purchase, please let me know) or the magnesium supplement.
  • No B.S. to share - only congratulations ! ! ! ! ! !
  • Sarah, congratulations! I love this site, it helps keep me on track. I've lot 43 lbs using it since Jan 2012. As you can see, I am not breaking any speed records but I am making this a life change. I encourage you to do that as well. You will be a beautiful bride!
  • I had a vaginal hysterectomy due to constant heavy bleeding, kept my overies. I haven't looked back. No more "surprises". Less anemic. And I was done having children. For me, it was a win-win.
  • Great job! We need to notice those things about ourselves. Too many of us look in the mirror and see all those things we hate! So good for your NSV. Merry Christmas.
  • Wow - awesome! Great job!!!
  • Do what works for you, what feels right, what is healthy ... it will fall into place. I am not a big Oz fan, but certainly not going to bash you for watching. Make this a life journey and I am confident what you choose will 'work' for you!
  • Congrats! I wish you many more successes.
  • This is a great post - thank you. I've reached the age and have 'dieted' so many times that this journey is a lifestyle change for me. I refuse to give up anything I really want. I may not be dropping pounds at a fast rate, but I am happy with my loss. It helps that my husband is on the same page as I am. My mantra is:…
  • New moon - Great advice and attitude! Something I will remember.
  • Congratulations!
  • Hey SouthernMama, congrats ! Being over 50, I've finally learned that this is a lifestyle change for me, not a diet. It can't be, cause all the 'diets' I've been on before have had the same result....eventual weight gain. So I've become aware of my calorie intake with MFP, I love logging in the exercise but most of all…
  • Good luck to you, this is a great attitude. I have just learned that this isn't about dieting, its about a way of life....the journey. What do I choose to do today? Sometimes my choice is to not exercise; though I know I will feel better physically and mentally. One day at a time, it's all we can do. You will succeed, I…
  • I use Maple Grove Raspberry Vinaigrette, sugar free. Very tasty! And very low cal.
