Very very nice. Congrats!

Congratulations! You are awesome. I find that maintaining is just as challenging as losing. If you need a goal, build it around maintenance. Good Luck!

More importantly, how do you feel? Make it a life journey, not a diet and you'll continue to do a great job.

Great Job....I started recording in MFP in January 2012, when my son got engaged. So I set a goal and got to work. In August, my son got married and it was a beautiful day. I did not reach the goal I had set for myself, but felt pretty darned good. And afterall it was his day, not mine. However, I have continued with MFP…

Sounds awesome, thanks for sharing.

Awesome job!!! I would love to run....alas, I look and feel like Phoebe on Friends when I do. Keep up the good work. And thanks for the tip on the app, will look for it.

Throw out the "categories" and doctors "charts". Be happy and comfortable enough to set your own goals. 170 might be perfect for you! More importantly make this a life change, not just one event. You may gain a pound or two, but that's ok, hit it hard. I think in the long run, you will be more successful when you are happy…

.My father died Tuesday. No, I did not worry about my calories. But I did log. It made me feel better to keep up my normal routine. That was a huge victory for me personally. Edited by nxd10 On April 29, 2013 3:11 pm Sorry for your loss. I too find comfort in my routine - sometimes its the only control I have.

I was in your shoes....we have all been. But you have gotten good advice already - - start slow. Love to walk to Leslie. If you are checking out youtube vids, search Zumba workouts. You will be surprised how much it does not seem like exercise. Good luck MFP friend!

Boy do we sound like sisters!!!! I too, **HATE** shopping. And I like the plus sized stores, I feel at home there. Until recently when I was told by a sales associate that they have a regular sized clothing store further down in the mall. I was sort of put off by her attitude. However, I pressed on. And a size 14W fits me…

I like the idea of visiting YouTube, its a great way to get a feel for the routines. Yes, there are always the few bouncy girls with no muscle fat .... but most attendees are there to do what you want. Work out, lose weight and have FUN! Having said that, find something that works for you, you'll stick with it longer and…

Welcome Maria. The best advice I can give is this is a life journey. It isn't a race - this is the event. It's one day, one pound sometimes one ounce a day. You will be ok!

Congratulations! I love your bow ties.

Congrats JennyBee - this is so awesome! Like you, I've been hesitant to start a thread but I love reading success stories such as yours. Keep up the great work!

All of them and I gained back every pound and more. Lesson learned? Yup, this is a life style change. Not a Fad of anykind. It is my choice - healthy or not, fat or not, alive or not.

Thank you wbfd22, I agree with you and normally shy away from replying to posts and I don't get involved with negative posts. I use this site for me, to count calories. I am not breaking any speed records with my weight loss, it is slow and steady. For me, a life change. Not a diet. That's why I use MFP, it's a great tool…

Great job! You look awesome!!!

Thank you for confirmed what I believed all along and hoped I could help others understand. This is a "life" change, not a diet. I've lot 49 lbs in a year, didn't break any speed records but for my age (over 50), I think it's A'OK. You are an inspiration, thank you for sharing such a personal story.

Love Love Love it. The Grandma is soooo funny. She and "Brother Haywood" crack me up!
-
Plan for it, enjoy it and move on to tomorrow - you got this!
-
I think it's a personal choice; I tend to eat less of the 'wrong' foods if I eat breakfast. At the very least, I would recommend that you drink a large glass of water when you get up. At the very least rehydrate after resting.

Thank you for sharing and thank you for being an inspiration to us all!

Not enough Rum Chata.....I can tell you that!

Oh my goodness, Paris - how cool is that!!! Walk lots - Enjoy the food/wine. I think one of the benefits of MFP is that it has made me more aware of food and my food choices/portions. I bet its done the same for you. Safe Travels!

Remove the word DIET from your vocab. This is a journey, a life change .... get over the banana bread and move on. You'll go over on calories today, no big deal. Get back on track now.

I like the Pepperidge Farm Deli Flats, I toast a ½ one and add a wedge of Laughing Cow Cheese. Total calories is only 85. I follow that up later in the morning with some fruit or a hard boiled egg.

Welcome and good luck!

While counting calories and exercise has worked for me, I really can't judge someone who is 'trying' to lose weight. I prefer to think of this journey as a life change, something I will focus on each day. So far it has worked for me. Yes, I've had people say I should count more than calories, I should not buy new clothes…

LuckyStarrGal, I suggest you make this endeavor a life change and not think of it as a diet. A person above posted "slow and steady wins the race" and they are right. Sounds like you are doing great, keep up the good work.
