Great pic, Vicki!

Drinks lots of water and, every time you want to cheat, ask yourself what's more important to you - eating that one thing, or a successful surgery and fast recovery. Remove temptation to the extent you can - e.g. No Halloween candy lying around. The first few days are the hardest, as your body gets rid of sugar.

Talk to your doctor, they might be able help you with a script.

I use Nioxin 4, the shampoo and conditioner. They have different formulations for different types of hair

Premier protein ready to drinks are 160 calories, 30 g of protein. And, besides Isopure, other good sources are fairlife milk, muscle milk light, and, of course, egg whites. But, I'm an absolute newbie compared to you - I'm not quite 3 months out from my VSG. What worked for you in the past?
-
It's been 11 weeks since I had VSG. Here's a couple of mirror shots (sorry for the location -- the office bathrooms seem to be when I always take these selfies). Today, for the first time in years, I'm wearing a dress and love how I look. Yay!
-
That is such a great accomplishment! Way to go!

I agree on the make yourself a priority. I just didn't participate in food-based events, unless absolutely necessary, until 2 months out. I'm a single mom with two young kids, so I still made their foods, but I focused on stuff that's less tempting to me. After surgery, my cravings mostly went away, so it was a lot easier.

It's one that displays the weight as a number, and needs batteries, as compared to one with a needle that then points to the correct number.

Mjks - they are different measuring systems. Grams are metric. There are a little less than 30 grams to an ounce, but it's not an easy conversion to do
-
I read it as using a blender on them.

Dragonflies- the nausea might be from the iron. Do you take the vitamins on an empty stomach? I try to take them shortly after I eat a "meal" (using chewables and a tiny amount of water to get the flavor out of my mouth), or after I'm halfway through a protein shake.

You can just get a regular pedometer, just to keep track of your steps. I would get a bullet type blender (I'm a couple months out and use mine daily), and a scale that works well to measure you. Eventually, it will be helpful to have a scale to measure your food. The pedometer gives you feedback on how active you are. The…

Gummys don't work for the multi because they don't contain something - maybe iron? There are meltaways for pretty much everything, and those are easy to take. Several people like flinstones for the multi

Better to be right before Thanksgiving, and not right after. It would be hard to keep to the pre-op diet before surgery
-
You look great! All your hard work really shows!
-
Good luck!

Congratulations!

I do agree with qft - it doesn't have to be a Fitbit, but a step tracker is great, and I can't live without MFP and a scaler/measuring cup.

Yesterday, I had raw veggies at every meal! And my tummy was fine! Yay for real food!
-
Congrats!

Right after surgery, I used a shaker bottle a lot. I got one with measuring marks on it so that I could easily measure how much I was drinking. I used one for shakes and one for water. I also have a ninja that I make great morning smoothies with - fair life skim milk, flavored/sweetened protein powder, some spinach (it…

I wouldn't worry about small amounts of caffeine

I agree, PB2 is awesome. It was, however, difficult to digest for me the first few weeks after surgery, but now I can eat it fine.

Yay! Check in with us when you feel up to it.

Also, you should make sure your surgeon knows all the symptoms. Write them a letter, with all the details, including the test results. Go ahead and schedule - you can cancel anytime before you are wheeled in. Finally, have a talk with HR at work and your boss, so that the surgery doesn't blind side them. I took one week…

Do you trust your general practitioner? I would talk to them, and get their opinion.

I didn't have bad pain once I was out of the hospital. Just needed Tylenol. If you feel lots of pain, you should contact your doctor.
-
I agree, you can do it. The one thing - the first week had some emotional ups and downs for me (and a few extra downs) so just be ready that this might happen.
