Thanks!

Ugh, my dinner was a mistake. I had baked tofu (fine) and asparagus. The asparagus is hard to digest and I feel like I have a brick in my stomach.

I'm agreeing with Tawnykakers. This is major surgery, and some people have very scary complications. I'd recommend finding a doctor who has access to everything, and who had been doing these surgeries for forever, and does around 15/week (3 surgery days, 4-5 operations per day)

Part of my motivation for getting the sleeve was the bias against overweight people. I really felt like it was holding me back in my career. I've always dressed nice and spent time on my hair and makeup. Now, at conferences, more people strike up conversations with me, and I don't have to fight to be heard and taken…

Hi! I had VSG on August 3. Congrats on beginning this journey. This is a great group. Feel free to friend me

Since you didn't have to diet before, I assume it's a lot of water. Glucose binds with water. People often loose 10 lbs in the first week on a low-carb diet, eating more than you are now. And I was exhausted the first few days. But, call the doctor and let him know.

You can call your dr.'s office about the heartburn, and ask if you can take something or if they'll prescribe some, Mine prescribed prescription strength omeprazole (Prilosec) from day 1.

Marta, can you share the recipe? I love chili, and it would be nice to try a different type

Reword - I've not had a bout since.

Sushi, no rice, wrapped in cucumber

I had falafel and veggies, with a yogurt sauce.

Yep. Sleeping in a recliner helps, too.

Anbrdr -- this is so very true. And you have been great on this board.

Mushroom, tomato, mozzarella, basil, a little salt and some olive oil. That was a huge mushroom, and is about 3 meals for me.

I've been doing everything (biotin, nioxin, protein, rogaine) and, a little over 3 months out, I'm starting to lose hair. My hair is already thin, so I'm not happy about this. But, I think it's part of the process for me.

Just finished my first 5k

Like Marta, I'm vegetarian/pescetarian and 3 months out. I use protein shakes and nonfat Greek yogurt to get most of my protein. I can only eat a tiny bit of fish. I can eat salad without issue, but it's a small serving. Totally happy I did it. Only thing that's difficult for me are social meals and cocktail hours (I'm an…

I would like to be in Onederland by December 1. I would like to have average steps at 11,000 per day, and work out 3 x per week

I had second thoughts, as well. three months out (today!) and I'm super happy I did it

Congrats!

So exciting!

I'm almost 3 months out, and I can eat small amounts of raw veggies, but then I'm full for 6 hours and my blood sugar gets wonky from not eating or drinking protein shakes. I want veggies in my diet (for nutrition reasons, as well as fiber), so I often put them into my morning protein smoothie. I can hide a cup of spinach…

Yum

It sounds like your whole GI system is in revolt.

Wow, wishing you a speedy recovery.

Pumpkin pie protein smoothie - 1 cup fairlife milk, 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, 1/2 cup canned protein, pumpkin pie spice and stevia to taste. Yum, but really thick. I might do less pumpkin and more spice next time. I needed the stevia to sweeten it to give it a "pumpkin pie" taste.
