All your hard work is really showing

You look great! Congratulations!

The Medifast Ready to Drink are not too bad. I also liked blending the vanilla and chocolate shakes with cold coffee.

I agree with loveshoe. Are you are you able to have any medifast food, or just the shakes? I found the shakes tasted better if I left them in the fridge for 30 minutes. But, I liked the bars the best. I hated the smoothies. And again, the first few days are hard. Once your body gets used to it (3 to 5 days later), it's…

What does your diet entail? In the end, it is mostly mental. The first few days are the hardest. When I wanted to cheat, I would ask myself what was more important - the cookie (or other cheat food) or have a successful surgery.

Thanks everyone. The day after I posted the message, I got my first compliment on losing weight from someone who didn't know about my WLS.

Way to go!

Yay anbdr! Way to go!

I did premium as well. It's a minor cost, and it makes tracking nutritional amounts easier

I'm just a month past surgery, so I haven't tried it lately, but I used to use it as a base for dips, in the place of sour cream. I liked ranch a lot. Then, just eat with a few veggies

Carbs don't have the same hold on me as they did pre-surgery. And, if you go low-carb, the first few days are super hard. But, then it gets real easy (unless you cheat, and you have to get them out of your system again) . Most insurance companies only cover surgery if your BMI is 40 (or 35 and a complication). Also, I…

I agree on the mental game. When you want to cheat, think about whether it's more important to you to have (cheat food) or to have a successful surgery. Also, you can start just thinking of yourself as someone who doesn't eat (sweets, fatty foods, etc.), and that makes everything easier. The first three to five days are…

This thread started just before I went in for gastric sleeve, and I'm already one month out! My surgery was August 3, I was 256.7 lbs. I'm now at 238.4, and I lost 18.3 lbs.
-
The first week was pretty awful, and I had the sleeve. Pain, not being able to do much, the weirdness of sipping. I kept wondering why I did that to myself. By the second week, my tune changed. I'm one month out now. Last week, I was at the beach swimming and playing with my kids (5 and 8) and super happy with my energy…

I was a serious caffeine addict before surgery. I kicked the diet soda habit, but was still drinking lots of caffeine before surgery. I had the sleeve on August 3 and I think my caffeine headaches hit while I was heavily drugged - I didn't feel them at all. I needed naps until about August 15 (which is probably surgery…

Exercise (treadmill and or bike) for 90 to 150 minutes / week. Plus, average 10,000 steps per day

Thanks!

I usually wait til the coffee cools a bit

Hi! A lot of what you lost in the two weeks before your surgery was water weight - it's the only way you can lose almost 20 lbs in 2 weeks. I'm sure you've been losing fat, as well, and mostly fat since surgery - and perhaps gaining some of the water and muscle back. Last week (I am 4 weeks out today), I lost 3.5. Totally…

Walking and Gas-X melt-always. While this may be TMI, a lot of the "bloat" feeling went away after my first bowel movement, which was 5 days out.

I start the math backward - I figure out what percentage my protein needs to be so that I get 80g of protein. At 1000 calories (based on my pre-op diet), it is 32%. Getting the 80g of protein is key to me. I then put my carbs at closer to 40% and my fat at close to 30%. But, mentally, when I'm looking at numbers, I'm…

Thank you for sharing

Two key things I did were (a) focus on the end result - I wanted to lose weight because it would help with the surgery, and a successful result was more important then any treat and (b) redefine myself. I'm no longer someone who eats sweets or other high simple carb foods. Period. It's as much a part of my identity as…

My struggles were (a) getting through sugar withdrawal and (b) psychological. On the psychological side, I found this book really helped; http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/0848732758/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1440810302&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=Think+like+a+thin+person&dpPl=1&dpID=51R7BeY7AOL&ref=plSrch.

On vacation this week, at the beach. So, my goals are: Water, water, water Make sure I'm getting enough protein 12,000 steps per day. Swim lots and lots.

I buy the unflavored powder and no effects. Maybe it's the sweetener in the punch?

You look great! Congrats!

Baked tofu with a little marinade - I use the low fat Nasoya brand. Edamame.
