@ Samuel Gray Dont get me wrong, doing cardio doesnt mean you WONT lose weight. I just meant that you dont have too. I dont like cardio particuarly, unless im playing sport or doing something fun for example. You can lose weight, and feel bettery by following a good solid balanced diet, and following a consistent strength…

@ Mashenka85 I strength train mon, wed, fri, in general but may switch to tues, thurs, sunday some weeks. i do it when i feel im ready and have sufficiently recovered from the last workout otherwise i wont be working out as well as i could and could actually be slowing down my progress. I know i dont HAVE to do it JUST…

You have to work out whats best for you, if you dont like cardio, dont do it although it could be beneficial for your heart/respiratory system, it can be detrimental to fat loss. I wish i had known this years ago, but thats the joys of working out and experimenting as i have found a way that suits me, and it feels like a…

@ Brechin89 I was not saying i believe in "starvation mode" specifically. I was, in a round about way, saying that after a prolonged amount of time your body will start to break down/catabolize muscle tissue, metabolism will slow down etc ***Your body will not be burning fat/repairing broken tissue as efficiently*** Are…

On a small cut at the moment of around 1lb a week average, aiming for 8lb fat loss total (3lb down already) 3 days Full body workout per week, No cardio as yet as my diet is almost perfect. Im literally eating to fuel my worouts, no treats. Take a look at my food diary, you really dont have to eat carrot sticks alone. All…

Intermitent Fasting would not force your boy into starvation mode, it would take a drastically reduced calorie diet (under maintanance) for more than say 8 hours of "Not Eating".. Im approximating more like 5-7 days perhaps? its simply a great way to still get the calories you need, but you feel more satisfied as you can…

Depends what you take the protein powder with, milk or water? and what the powder contains. This could be down to bloating, water retention, an ingredient that doesnt agree with you perhaps? i found that if i took whey with milk, it caused bloating and i appeared and felt "loose/flabby". changed to water, and no problems…

I agree to both sides of the story. I agree firstly that you need to listen to how YOUR body reacts to your calorie intake level, to a certain extent. BUT what most people simply do not realise is that although you may not FEEL hungry, your body needs more than 1200 calories. simple, and especially if you are…

I would think it is very unlikely, if not almost impossible, that youve built any noticeable muscle in 6 weeks on 1400 calories. My guess would be that your body is holding on to all the water, fat, muscle weight as your not eating enough. Try adding an extra 100 calories each day and monitor your progress for 2 weeks.

started leangains 16/8 fasting 4 days ago. suits me perfectly too. hated having 5-6 small meals a day. now have 2-3 meals consisting of around 700-800 calories each. perfect.
-
just to clarify, you are trying to put weight ON, as in build muscle right?

around £40 a week for myself :)

sorry, read your first line wrong. still 6 days a week may be overdoing it.
-
i would say that 6 days a week intense circuit training may be a little overdoing it. add on top of that the Gillian michaels dvd, and eating only 1200 cals. your bound to be tired. i'd say that 3-4 days would be plenty of excercise per week. remember its more about your diet and eating clean than the excercise. focus on…

make things like whole milk, chicken, natural peanut butter a part of your diet. just 300ml of whole milk contains around 180 calories. add that to each meal and you can bump your calories up. nuts are high in good fats and therefore high in calories?

eggs, chicken breast, cottage cheese. everyday no problem :)
