  • Hey There! Feel free to add me :-) I have been a diabetic for 17 years...I was diagnosed in 3rd grade. I have been on the pump for about 2 years now and I LOVE IT! Plus...I am 29 weeks pregnant! Heading into the home stretch and I can't wait to meet my little baby girl. It is always nice to have T1 Diabetic friends to vent…
  • Hi Michelle! Welcome to the group :-) My name is Megan - I am 27 years old and have been a Type 1 Diabetic since the age of 9. I recently switched to a Mini Med pump in 2011 and I LOVE IT. Especially now, since I am 25 weeks pregnant, it makes controlling my blood sugar during this time much easier (at least in my…
  • Thank you to those of you who have posted! This is making me feel much better! I am going to have to make sure I just keep doing what I am doing and not stress out about how critical my doctor can be sometimes and how she can make me feel like I am not doing good enough. When I told my OBGYN who specializes in Type 1…
  • Hi there and welcome! I have been Type 1 since 9 years old (I'm 26 now). I have been on the pump for about a year and a half and LOVE IT! Feel free to add me - it's definitely nice having a support system when trying to lose weight :)
  • Hi All! Welcome to all of those who are new! Snapshot - I agree with Keith. Talk with your doctor and they will be able to decrease/alter your insulin. Depending on the type of workout I do I take my pump completely off during excersize (especially if it is a game like volleyball or softball, then I don't want it to get…
  • Sheboygan, WI - Brat Capital of the World (Johnsonville Brats - so dang good but not when your trying to lose weight)! A Green Bay Packers fan for life
  • Hello There! Feel free to add me :) I have had T1 since I was 9 years old - played sports all through high school and still work out, play vollyeball/softball (and coach high school volleyball) at least 5 times a week. I just recently switched to a Medtronic insulin pump about a year ago a love it! I do get occasional lows…
  • I agree with what everyone has said so far - it really depends on how you respond to insulin. There will be some days I don't take insulin at all with dinner if it is something that has no carbs like a salad, etc. and I have also worked out that night.
  • Hi Everyone! So nice to see the posts and support out there! Pinkita - While I love being on the pump, there are a few minor downsides that I have found - but for me my blood sugars have never been better since switching! Since I play a lot of sports (volleyball, softball) I find that I have to take the pump off during…
  • Hello Everyone! :flowerforyou: I just joined this site a couple of days ago and I am loving it so far! It has definitely gotten me back on track with eating better and living a healthier lifestyle. I have had T1 diabetes since the 3rd grade (1994). I just got a Medtronic Pump about a year ago and I love it! I don't know…
