Yes to everything!! #2 is especially hard on a site like this, but it's important to find what works for you and keep experimenting until you do. Also, if I might add #8 ... find some solid, motivational and fun friends on here to help you along the way. to Bean-a-licious!

Edit: need more coffee before posting so I can be coherent. =) Are they worth it? Yes, depending on your needs. For me, best decision ever.

Honestly, it sounds like you're being a little wimpy here. What's wrong with speaking up to your friend and/or trainer and tell them what you want. Maybe they think you're perfectly happy right now. They can't read your mind, so just speak up with confidence. If you can't do that, then perhaps you need to hire your own…

Awesome job! Must feel great!

As a group, no. However, there are many times an overweight or obese person is judged and discriminated against simply due to their weight, when it shouldn't be a factor. I'm not talking about airline seats and that sort of thing, I'm talking about not getting a job or promotion because fat = perceived laziness. But that's…

So, uh, question ... last night I did incline bench presses using 30 pound dumbbells ... two sets of 12. I'm totally new to this type of thing and was having a little trouble stabilizing the weight on the way back down ... should I go lighter weight or less reps? (Please don't mock the newbie!) =)

That needs to be on Tosh.0 and he needs to invite them all back for a web redemption!

Please check this out: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/7965-in-place-of-a-road-map You can find a lot of people who eat plenty and lose weight and a lot of them prescribe to a IIFIYM mentality so you don't get bogged down with what you can't have or feeling like you're failing if you're not eating only veggies..…

I would recommend asking your doctor. When I first started trying to get fit, my doctor put me on a ketosis diet and provided me with little strips to test my urine to show when I was in ketosis, I think it took two days. But he also advocated carbs via green veg (all I wanted) and fruit (no more than 2 serves/day) and I…

Such a great, positive thread!! I'm in the process of upping my calories (again!) and will reassess in a few weeks. Every time, it seems scary, then it works and I'm like, why did I even worry?! And then I add an apple to my helloitsdan shrine.

If you're going to log some, why not all? It's not that much of a pain. If you regularly eat the same things, just throw them into "my foods" or "recipes" so it's easier to find ... or use the "copy to today" feature. There are a lot of tools to help you do this. Edit: What T-Rex said!! =)
