That's surprising. I thought in those days the only things most people lifted (men and women) were Marlboro's (deep breathing exercise) and Budweiser (12 oz curls).

I think this is the root of the problem for most non-supportive spouses, male and female - insecurity. But, it is a health issue, and anyone who attempts to obstruct progress, even by saying "I'll love you at any weight" is wrong.

I can't help but think that if the OP was female, and it was the husband "forbidding" her from taking an extra class, this thread would look very, very different.
