Do both. Cardio will burn more calories while doing it, but strength exercise will boost your metabolism and burn more calories per day.

You should try measuring your body (arms, thighs, stomach, neck) to see if there are any changes. If you're shrinking but your weight stays the same, you're losing fat but building muscle

I don't thnk it's possible to get allergic to exercise. Perhaps your body needs a rest, or you might be dehydrated or overheated. Take a couple days off, eat and drink well and see if that works out for you. You might also be pushing yourself too harder than what shape you are in.

Yes, in general your muscles should be sore/worn out after you're done with your sets. I recommend doing three sets with 10 repetitions.
