I doubted it when I heard that you were actually burning 600 calroies. I usually have to go on a hard run for about an hour to burn that much. So I never really counted that many anyway. I usually do about an hour of cardio during the day and then the P90X workout at night. So I make sure I burn a ton. Thanks for the help…

Apple with low fat PB...always my fall back. Will keep you full too.

Yea - I am in the same boat. I started it. Got frustrated. Then re-started it 2 weeks later, and now I love it. I am having trouble sticking to the diet plan. I always seem to go over on my carbs. But the recipes are great - when I have time to cook them. Before P90X I was cooking EVERYTHING in oil. Which I know is good…

Good Job! I love when I see the scale going the right way! I am actually up 2 pounds this morning. I had a late-night snack of low fat cheese and turkey breast (no bread) after my P90X workout....so I think I was paying for my evening binge this morning. Blah. But no booze and I am feeling pretty rested this morning.…

That is sucha good idea! I love working out at lunch but find that if I do it when I get home after work - I avoid that relaxing post-work cocktail with dinner. Plus if you work out - you could swing by at the END of happy hour, and just say you need water b/c you just worked your butt off. They might be more understanding…

Wow. This woman comes into YOUR house, picks up YOUR photograph and just insulted you like that?!?! Out of nowhere! You didn't ask her for her opinion. She is not your doctor, and she doesn't know you. I think you reacted very calmly and very maturely. I would have reacted much more aggressively. Who does she think she…

Ah what the hell. I am going to try it too. I have the same exact problems - I think the sleep disorder is the worst. So I will give it a go. The weekends are going to be the hardest. :noway: But what have we got to lose?

My interest is peaked. What does it taste like? Can I still take vitamins?
-
Oh - and I am happy to see that you eat really healthy- because that is where I seem to fail. I would rather sweat for 3 hours, then have a salad...but I'm trying! :grumble:

My date is the 10th as well! That's crazy. And of course my work schedule is insane. So there is triple stress. I'm sure you understand it well enough. Weekly weigh-ins sound like a plan. Do you want to start every Monday? (That way it will keep us from being too bad on the weekends). I plan on going to a spinning…

When are you gettin hitched? I am getting married in October also...and am trying to lose about 12 pounds or so... We should do something together...check in with each other everyday...make sure we are working out and doing our absolute best. I just started P90x last week, and I am hurting. But I am also slightly injured…

Thanks Oaker - Yea I just started...so I guess that's the fat shredder. I'm going to get a good protein powder to supplement it a little. Any recommendations? I guess that would def add to my calories.

Quick tip. On the elliptical - if you put your weight on your toes/balls of your feet you will work your calves/quads (the front of your thighs). If you put the weight on your heels you will work the muscles in your hamstrings(back of your thighs) and glutes (*kitten*). : ) When I want to work off some thigh cottage…

Whenever I work out on a machine - I enter my weight but take about 15 punds off (I actually weigh 150 so I put in 135) and I read somewhere, that that will give you a better, more accurate calorie count. : ) I'd rather underestimate than embellish.

Hey Dutchess, I had a stress fracture last year in my left hip...from running, hiking and walking with weight - I'm in the military and wasn't resting it enough. Because we are women, and the the shape of our hips is so much different than men, we tend to be very sensitive to these types of fractures. Rest is critical when…

Very cool. Alright - I sucked it up and did it. I already have most of the equipment, so I wasn't suckered into buying his pull up bar or magic weights...I hope it's worth it. I def have the time to do the workouts before I go to work every morning. I'm not gonna lie, I'm kind of excited to start it...

What is the serving size!?!?!

I agree. I force myself to go to bed early, so that working out at 5 or 6 am is easy. If I really can't yank myself out of bed in the morning, I take a 90 minute lunch and run for 45, then shower. I work right across from a gym so that makes it super easy. But then I usually avoid big heavy lunches with co-workers... I…

Hey Sandy - Thanks a lot. What is the program like? I run 3-7 miles five days a week and then just do push-ups, pull-ups and abe work 3 days and am looking to get in shape for my wedding in October (about 80 days away). Is it seven says a week? Can I still run? Is the diet difficult to stick to or costly? I appreciate all…

I'm curious...what is this ab challenge? Do you guys have a series of exercises you do? My belly is the one thing I can never change. I've dropped almost ten pounds since I've started working out, but the belly won't budge (it just bulges). Let me know! I've love to join in if it's not too late!

sooo...do you do it every day? or every other day?
-
Hey Shredders - Random question: I am used to weight training on three or four times a week and then running five or six. With traditional weight training you are supposed to rest a day in between each workout. Or at least work a different muscle group. But with the 30 Day Shred I feel like the workouts are too quick to…

I am exactly like you. In fact - the veggies you listed are the only ones I eat too. And I usually use olive oil and garlic to season them - very very plain girl as well. I found a great (cheap) book a few weeks ago with the perfect balance of healthy, quick, cheap and easy meals. It is called "The Healthy College…

What types of weights do I have to buy?
-
Alright - I've been resisting this for a while now...been avoiding the added responsibility of checking in with people and being accountable for my actions (or LACK of action). But, what the heck - I have the time in the mornings and you guys said it only takes about 30-40 minutes right? I'll give it a go, I have nothing…

Hi - I keep seeing awesome reviews about this ChaLean extreme exercise program. I like the fundatmentals that the program is based off of (I've always been an advocate of lifting), but I was wondering what sort of equipment you have to buy in order to succussfully complete the 3 months of exercises. The program is kind of…

If the pain is on the outside and bottom of your knees, that could be a sore IT band. Try google-ing IT band stretches and doing them in the mornings (even on the days you don't run). Also, make sure that whatever shoes you are running in, you use ONLY for running. I know that sounds silly but I will wear one pair of…

Anyone out there with some useful experience with heart rate monitors? I see them being mentioned here and there and I'm not really sure how they work. I am all about getting the most out of my workout (mainly because I hate doing it so much!) but I'm not all about wasting money on gimmicks and crap. If anyone can explain…
