bump~ I've been Paleo for a while but have been getting bored... these recipes will be perfect! : )

Eat some meat girl. It looks like you have very little protein in your diet. I have three eggs and bacon almost every morning and I'm not hungry til noon or 1 pm. If you don't have time to cook your eggs - crack them and whisk them up in little tupperware containers at night (I add veggies and cheese to them as well) and…

Hey there Friend - Read this! It will fill you with hope and patience. It breaks down how the Whole30 will feel day-by-day. : ) Straight from the horse's mouth! Best of luck and keep up the hard work and dedication. http://whole9life.com/2013/01/whole30-timeline/

Hey Everyone! I'm so happy to have found this group! I'm three days in to the Whole30 and while I'm loving it, my main supporter and loving boyfriend is already whining about not being able to drink soda or chocolate milk. : ) So I'm happy to find a few others so excited and motivated to do this right! I was following a…

This is a great group. Also - google Mark Sissan and Rob Wolf...both of their blogs have great information - especially if you're just starting out. I'm personally a fan of Primal over Paleo - but I think both theories are solid and beneficial for long-term health. Additionally, depsite what a lot of mainstream 'healthy'…

You only ate veggies two times that entire day. Not all carbs are "bad". And as good as fruits are for you - they still carry a lot of sugar/natural carbs. Maybe substitute one of your snacks for a veggie-based snack and throw some broccoli/tomatoes in your eggs in the morning? I bet if you start filling up on good,…

Welcome! Have you read the Primal Blueprint? I'm not at all affiliated with the book or the company - but I thought it was a good read. It helped re-teach me about good eating habits and look at the primal/paleo lifestyle in a more wholistic (sp?) way... Glad you're back on a healthier diet track! In which branch did you…

Disclaimer: I'm a huge fan of booze. : P I love me a great local beer or a glass (or bottle) of wine. However - what it does to your metabolism (and I'm over-simplifying here) - is pretty hard on your fat loss and muscle recovery goals. Ultimately, your body "stops" burning fat and just throws all its energy into…

Kettlebells are great! A little expensive but you can do a variety of exercises with just one or two of them. I also recommend a pull up bar ( you can buy ones that will han gin your doorway and not damage your walls). I got my "New Rules of Lifting" book used on Amazon...great read...

I just tried Clif Energy Gels at a recent half marathon (they were giving them away for free). CERTAINLY not nearly as tasty and refreshing as frozen grapes sound on a hot run...but they def helped me at the 10-11 min mile mark. Disclaimer: I'm not a huge fan of running gels, beans or snacks. I don't like to slow down to…

I spend half of my time in Santa Monica and half in Oceanside -just north of San Diego...always into fun activities outdoors if anyone's in the area. I know of a few great canyon hikes, places to kayak and beautiful beach run locations...just drop me a line...

Thanks everyone! The posts did help. I'm a big fan of 'everything in moderation' anyway - so if I do buy it, I'll be sure to keep that in mind.

one more vote for team Endomondo! Free and web site is easy to maneuver...

Fat free sour cream and one of those Ranch salad dressing powder mixes. Tastes just like the real thing! I can't believe I waited 25 years to discover it....

Add some yummy-flavor of protein powder to dry oatmeal before adding the hot water. Depending on what flavor you add it can either hide really well - or make it taste better! I personally don't like oatmeal unless I add some to it..

Yikes! I'm the minority on here! I use a Garmin FR60 - a little pricier - I think I got it at a running store for 160.00. It's a HRM and GPS tracker in one. Which is great if you love to run/bike outdoors. But it can also be used inside at a gym or during a workout class. The pros are: A. Not as bulky because the watch is…

When is it? I wouldn't mind signing up if a few ppl wanted to run together. I did the LA Rock And Roll half marathon and have never done a marathon. I run about an 8 mile pace for a 5K...
