I eas taking sublingual B-12 but realized that it gives me a headache. I just discovered that it has sucralose in the cherry flavor. My body does not like sugar substitutes. They have given me headaches all my life. I am going to try a B 12 Complex that is not sublingual. I have also started thinking about Bilberry. I am…

I have never tried. However, a close friend has and she loved it for a few months. Then she started having a health issue. She is convinced that the pill brought on this condition because previous blood tests did not reveal it. I think that somethimes certain medial issues don't present themselves immediately and will show…

I am fat and I am obese. I have no problem calling myself that. Others have a problem with me calling myself that. The problem is that when people think fat or obese they automatically think lazy. Because I have never been lazy and co-workers know it they don't like to hear me say it. I am fat and proud. If I lose 20…

I have tried to figure out my BMR before but I also know that when you are morbidly obese the amount of fat you have may effect your BMR as well. My Doctor gave me a meal plan of 1976 calories but I always go over. I do plan on getting it to that level but at my current size and my attitude I think losing weight slowly is…

I am 6"0 and have a large frame. I am currently obese and honestly do not care about the weight. I track for my PCOS. It is causing my hormones and blood sugar to go haywire. So my diary focuses on sugar amounts and I stick closely to a modified diabetic diet, sometimes low carb but not always. As a teenage when I worked…

Diagnosed with PCOS earlier this year. Was put on more than one medication. I have taken myself off of it. The diarrhea was unbearable. I am now trying to stick to the meal plan my Dr gave me. I have not yet been able to get my calories that low but I am getting my carbs lower. She wants 80-100 each day. I am also…

I am currently on taking supplements, a multivitamin and sublingual B-12. The Dr wants me on meds but I am waiting until after my next bloodwork in July. I have changed my diet and am hoping that this will effectively lower my blood sugar levels. The Dr would like me on Spiralactone and Metformin.

Loseteli, I saw in your weight progress monitor that you have Totally Tall Women in the background. I am 6"0 tall.

Jacksonville too! Southside area.

Some people have to eat low car or lower carbs than the standard American diet. My father, although always thin, has type 2 diabetes and has to eat lower carb. I have PCOS and my Dr has advocated a lower carb diet. I eat far more carbs then the Atkins Induction phase but less thean the average diet. I don't so it because I…

My Dr gave me a meal plan for PCOS. I am 6"0 and around 278. The meal plan calls for 1976 calories. My coworkers would not believed how many calories I am allowed to consume. They are all near 1500 calories. However, I reminded them that they are 5"4 and I am definitely not. Their builds are also smaller than mine. We have…

Like the previous poster ruby...So, my theory is that no food is evil, and there is no one "right" way to eat. It's about each of us finding out for ourselves what makes us feel good and full of energy, as well as working out what fits into our own lifestyle. For me, I know I am healthier and happier when I eat a good…

Agree with the previous poster. I found his idea offensive when I heard about it some months ago. For people who have not been at the level of activity that he was it is a completely different story. Also, the fact that he gained weight on purpose does not equate to people that put on weight after years of food issues.

I had a good day yesterday. I was not under my calorie count but I had 8 glasses of water and felt good. Before I was diagnosed with PCOS I had days where I felt terrible and did not know why. Now I know why and I know how to treat my body. That's a good feeling. I started off today on the right food and do plan on having…

Welcome to the group. I have had a day one more than once as weight has been a life long issue. I have to remind myself that I will make mistakes. I will fall off the wagon but it's okay and tomorrow because I will try again with a clean slate the next day. Just do your very best each day. Again welcome to the group and…

Also keep in mind that plus size modeling starts at a size 6. So for many people there perceptions are off. I have always referred to myself as fat because whether I am big or smaller I have never had hips. I have no problem calling myself fat and do not see it as a put down. I am also very tall with kinky curly hair. For…

The worst thing about a beauty obsessed culture is that everyone feels they have the right to comment on everyone's face or body. It's ridiculous. I hear fat jokes at work all the time.

I usually refer to myself as fat and it bothers other people not me. I am only offended if people start telling me I am going to die an early death. I am an adult and I know my Dr feels so I don't need another opinion. I have made statements such as "big girls have to stick together". Also, since I am 6" tall some people…

Hello Arielle! I don't know about the reductive of hair. I was just diagnosed about two months ago. Just take everything in stride.

I try not to eat a meal with anywhere near 55 g of carbs. I eat 3 meals and 2 snacks per day. My goal is supposed to be 80 g per day but I have only met that twice since I was diagnosed a little over a month ago, maybe two months. I still eat at least 1 piece of fruit per day. My breakfast is normally protein heavy. My…

I have set a weight goal for myself that may also be unrealistic. We have to adjust our time frame and ideas as we go. You may get there just not today but with time and patience it may happen. I saw may only because everybody is different and I have no idea what yours is capable of doing. This is a long journey and we…

People refuse to accept that bodies are different. This is not only toward diet relating issues but spreads across a spectrum of issues. I am trying to eat lower carb and it is a struggle for me. The ignorance that we hear is also the same kind aimed at may obese or overweight people. Remember it can never be the food it…

I was diagnosed about a month ago. My testosterone was way too high and I have the hair to prove. I also had an elevated C Peptide level which is supposed to determine degree of insulin resistance. I also had an ultrasound and saw a few cysts for myself. My Dr gave me a diet(lower carbs, about 80 per day) that I have been…

I am 6"0 with a large frame, boy shaped build. My starting weight was 295 with a size 24/26 on top and 22/24 on bottom. I think my goal is somewhere around 175. That should put me at about a 12. I don't know if my body will go lower than that. But at a size 12 I was told if I were any smaller I would look "drugged". I…

I really feel that when it's time you will stick to what works for you. This is my first time trying MFP and I make it work because I have to for health reasons(PCOS). But if I had never received that diagnosis I would never have started this. It's sad to admit it but it's true. For me, timing has been everything.

I made it through that day but when I got back from the Dr. I fell upon a doughnut. More like they did not come to pick them up from the room next to me and after an hour I lost it and ate 1 and 1/2 doughnut. The funny thing is my husband said "There were a dozen donuts and you ate 1 and 1/2, that's a small amount compared…

My Dr wants me to eat 1980 per day. I struggle to get that low. I am normally at 2150-2400 per day. I have been losing weight though. I have PCOS so weight loss will definitely be a struggle for me. Whenever I start a new workout regime my weight loss stalls for about 2 months and then the pounds start to come off slowly.…

I think people forget that everybody's body is different and while many people are healthy eating fro all food groups that does not work for everyone. I was recently diagnosed with PCOS with the blood test to prove it. The only thing that has been helping me to feel better is lowering the number of carbs in my diet. Plus,…

At EricNCU, That is inspirational. If you started running at 340 there is hope for me. I did have one bad experience. I was out walking and group of guys passed by and yet "walked faster fattie". That was not a good moment. I kept walking but inside I was devastated. I was publicly humiliated and it didn't feel good. It…
