It's all relative - I've heard overweight people brag that they've made better decisions by getting Chicken Nuggets instead of a burger at McDonalds, or they got Diet Soda instead of regular. Take it all in stride and don't worry about how others think.

This is my favorite question. The cliffs notes version: I went out on a date, we went to a movie. A kid behind us accidentally kicked her chair ONCE. She turns around, says "HEY!" and points at him aggressively. His entire family is now staring at us (specifically, at the back of my head, because I was too mortified to…

I actually use it in place of any recipe or food item that is complimented with sour cream. Use regular greek yogurt instead of sour cream in something like chicken taco's or salsa mix, it's excellent.

Looking forward to it, as long as you promise to post your bounce-back weight gain by June of 2013. :)

Be thankful if you can pull off 6 lbs by Jan 1st. But to do 15 lbs by Jan 1st, while not impossible, is very unhealthy and prone to a bounceback of easily regaining the weight. A good rule of thumb is 1.5 - 2.5 lbs a week with hard work. Stick to that. Learn the discipline to weight loss.

Welcome. I started at 262, Down to 250, my goal is 210. Weight watchers wanted me down to 180 but I say they are crazy. But when I hit my goals I'll add before and after. But for now, before photo is my motivator!

Egg white omelette, 3 servings, 90 cals. Misc Veggies - who cares how many cals, it's under 50 and it's good for you. .25 oz cheddar cheese shredded - approximately 90 cals 2 bacon - can't recall. All told it's about 400 cals for breakfast, but about half of my protein requirements all in breakfast alone. And it's super…

I don't know if this helps but from what I've read, a good way to tell if your heart is strong enough to handle high intensities like that is to see how quickly it goes down. So if you're going from 170 to 140 within a minute of changing your intensity, your heart is strong like bull.

I'm 30 and I look waaaaaay better than my current picture provides, but I'm keeping the John Candy-esque shot up as a motivator. I'll update my stuff when I look waaaaay - WAAAay better. :P

I occasionally drink a Diet Lipton Green Tea, has zero calories and whatnot. My understanding based on what I've read is that, while it in itself does not cause weight gain, the chemicals and sweeteners in it cause 2 things to happen: 1) Sugary cravings can be more unbarable and remain because of the sweetener and 2) The…

I do every day but it's more just for fun / general info, like how much sweat lost, stuff like that. My official weigh-in's are Friday mornings so I don't take my "daily" weight too serious. And every Friday morning assuming I've made progress, even if it's only 0.4 lbs (so far the lowest weight loss week I've had) I treat…

Replaced eggs with egg whites. Was shocked to learn how much calories are in egg yellows.

There's alot of people with this mentality. Early on in my weight loss attempts I tried Weight Watchers. WW does great things, but I ding them for one thing...they communicate that Fruits and Veggies are "Zero points." Without saying it, they ultimately suggest to people that they can eat all the food they want if it's…

Progress is progress. Smaller waist is more important to me.

"Are your tits getting smaller?" Said no one ever. But still waiting. :)

I disagree with anyone giving you lip over the article being too long. This was a great read and simplifying everything into 3 steps doesn't work for everyone. The extra details in some of this article give me some good ideas. Thanks for sharing.

Just throwing in my two cents, but I'm no doctor. If you go from zero to 60 in terms of diet and exercise, your body will "freak out" and lock down thinking that you're starving and you're going to need all the fat and energy in your body you can spare, so it will actually burn as little as possible to ensure you can…

I eat egg white omelettes every morning and I've found that boosts my weight loss. My overall opinion is to eat breakfast, and my understanding is that it's one of the most important meals of the day. But I don't think it's "required."

I would kill to lose 2 pant sizes. Don't focus so much on the number is my recommendation. I wake up in the morning and see myself with my shirt off and, regardless of the fact that the number has only changed by about 4 lbs in 2 weeks, I feel like I look as if I've lost 10-15 lbs. I still have a long road ahead of me for…
