I know what you mean, me and my wife went on a "moderate" hike of 4 miles this spring, I think we new we were in trouble when we go to the trailhead and saw the Appalachian Trail signs. We were not expecting to walk up and down mountains for three hours climbing over boulders but we did it and had a blast. One day with…

My goal is to be "normal", you know go through life making more good decisions than bad ones. That being said of course you will have cheat meals, days, and maybe weekends, then you get back on the horse and go back to making good decisions. I lost a lot of weight very fast a few years ago, it was amazing and my discipline…

I actually started listening to audio books, I only listen to them when I work out so it gives me another reason to look forward to getting up at 5:00 in the morning, I can't wait to see what happens next. I buy whatever is on sale on iTunes.......

He sounds just like my father-in-law, if my mother-in-law goes out for the day on a Saturday when she gets home and asks what he had for lunch he looks at her like a lost little boy and says, nothing, there was nothing to eat. Funny thing though, in their 40 years of marriage his work has taken him out of town for up to 2…

I use Pedometer PRO GPS + I have found it to be reasonably accurate. First it gives you a nice map of where you just walked to compare with your route which is usually very accruate (although it does show me walking in the middle of the street alot). I have also checked it against the distance as measured in Google Earth…

Keep in mind the size of the person who is logging those calories. The bigger you are the bigger the calorie burn is. I burn calories at almost twice the rate of my wife, which by the way does not make me very popular at dinner time when I am dumb enough to point out all of those calories that I have left for the day.

Get a Yorkie and name him Pete. He is happy to wake you up 5 minutes before you alarm goes off no matter what time you set it for. These days I set it for 5, he is sure to have me up at 4:55 every morning. P.S. Weekends also.......

If you do nothing else just keep walking. Keep increasing your speed and duration. I am very heavy and walking has done great for me. I have lost 30 pounds since March 5th and my only exercise has been walking. I started at 2 miles (40 minutes) on my lunch break. Currently I am doing 4-5 miles (appox 80 - 90 minutes)…

iPhone 4S for me. I have had a bunch of Black Berrys and they all have one thing in common, they stink for anything but e-mail. Not sure about Droid, some people love them but I actually enjoy the structure Apple gives me, whenever I look at my freinds Droid phone it looks like sombody threw up apps on it. My office mate…

I went to a five meal a day diet. It's pretty tough to be hungry when you eat every three hours or so. Years ago I did a structured diet plan that required a five meal schedule. To be a meal it has to be a minimum 150 calories and contain a protein and I try to limit each meals carbs to less than 25 (I rarely stay this low…
