  • I've been taking metformin since 2000. My doctor gradually increased the dose during the first 6 weeks. I felt sick for about the first 3 weeks. I had to learn what food combinations caused the worst side effects. I've noticed that if I take it with a high-carb meal, like spaghetti, I still get diarrhea. It can be a great…
  • Thanks! I appreciated the support. He was a total pain in the butt last time. Always complaining about what I made for dinner since I tried not to make carbs. We'll see how it goes this time around.
  • I'm going t be starting South Beach with a friend next week. I lost 40 lbs in 3 months on it a few years ago. My big problem is CARBS and my husband. I love carbs and he thinks they ARE diet food. I'd love to join the group.
  • I have a Tony Little Gazelle. It's not quite the same as the Glider. I love it even though I don't use it as much as I should. I've had mine for several years and my hubby uses it once in a while. He has bad knees from high school football. It doesn't bother him and makes him work up a sweat. Good Luck with your search.
  • OK, I fell off the wagon. But I'm desperately trying to climb back up. I won't bore you all with the millions of excuses I've told myself. Just trying to get back into the routine of recording foods & exercise and looking for support. I hope everyone had a wonderful Chrismas!
  • Welcome to Michigan. I moved here from Santa Barbara County in 1992. I live in southern MI, Lenawee County. The midwest is very meat and potatoes. I've gained over 100 punds since moving here. Anyway, for more organic and whole foods, it may be worth a trip to Ann Arbor once or twice a month. They have Trader Joe's and…
  • OK. I'm not doing so well at logging my foods. I manage to get them logged when I'm at work. But as soon as I get home, I lose all motivation. My house is like a black hole for motivation. Mu husband just wants me to sit on the couch with him and watch TV. I know, I'm weak. This habit is so hard to break. :frown:
  • So is this a 100oz a day water challlenge? Or do you set your own goal? Either way I'd like to join. I've got 8 oz in so far.
  • I have no motivation at all. That's why I'm trying to be more involved with MFP. I need others to help motvate me. Maybe I'll try the rewards, non-food rewards.
  • FINE! I'M GONNA DO IT! Are yo happy now? Please come to my house at about 7:30 pm tonight. That's when I have the next stare down scheduled with my Gazelle Glider.
  • Sean, My son, who is now 15, was 70 pounds overweight at 13. This concerned me a great deal because I know that being overwieght as a child can effect your growth just as being underweight can. We changed his diet and he took up a paper route and has lost 30 pounds. He still wears the same clothes because hes like them a…
  • I would like to join the halfers club. My friend turned me on to MFP about 6 months ago and I have been on-again, off-again ever since. I sat down at work yesterday and riped out the zipper of the pants I was wearing, which I just bought about 1 month ago. So instead of losing, I have been gaining. I have serious emotional…
  • Thank you all for the well wishes! It is nice to have support from others who are going thru the same thing.
  • Hello everyone! I just joined MFP at the urging of my friend. I have previously done Calorie King. I find that I start these things then give up after a few weeks. I need some friends to keep me motivated and accountable. With all the on-line forums, social networks and groups, it's wonder anyone leaves the house. I would…
  • Did anyone ever figure out how many calories you burn while using the Gazelle?
