EGGS!!! Love them, eat them all the time! Scrambled, over easy, egg whites, omelettes, it doesn't matter! 70 cal 7g protein an egg- can't go wrong

I'm 8mos out, I aim for 1200cal/day but usually end up 1000-1400 (if I've been exercising a lot) I eat when I'm hungry and dont really worry too much about calorie intake as long as I'm getting enough protein and feel good. If I'm tired and cranky, I'll eat :). But definitely call your doc or nutritionist for better advice…

It's such a great feeling! It's also great to love shopping again! Good luck to you.

I love yoga and hot yoga. It's all about finding a great instructor who is motivating and understanding of everyone's level. I've never been to a hot yoga class where no one has been able to leave or not allowed to drink throughout the 60-90 min session. With yoga and pilates as well, you just need to take it slow, pay…

I'm in! I'd like to lose 25# by the end of the year. I've started using a HRM so I'm tracking my workouts better.

Greek yogurt! It's so much better for you and tastes awesome. Don't worry about the extra calories or fat (for the 2%) it will keep you full longer and it's natural sugars. I love the Chobani flavors and Fage 0 and 2% plain plus berries or granola. yummy!!

I log before for the most part because I Preplan EVERYTHING!! But allow myself a fair amount of play so I choose what I want for snacks and post workout food.

I'm wearing a target sports bra and layering either a couple of those shelf bra tanks or one of the fitted Champion yoga tanks also with a shelf bra. I've gone from a 44D-DD to a 36D and now have lots of loose skin so doubling up helps keep everything in place! I remember seeing one at lane Bryant a while back and I know…

I could probably mix a half serving of cereal with my greek yogurt, that would definitely help to stay full longer along with my protein! Thanks. Didn't really think of the splenda+fiber, but it's a possibility maybe with plain yogurt. I don't drink more coffee anymore so really not much use for splenda :(

I had lap band 7 months ago, I feel amazing! I know basically how the sleeve works, but I don't know of anyone who has had it as I don't know any surgeons in my area who even do them. For me, I had a great experience- easy preop, surgery, recovery, and up to now. You have to follow your doc's guidelines or you will get…

Lots of online resources, google search should help! Also, Amazon has lots of cookbooks in print and available for kindle. As long as you're on solids, you dont need any special recipes, just high protein lower carb. Good luck! Kim

I try to weigh myself once a week sometimes 2, always early in the morning before I eat and shower. I used to be obsessed with the scale and that only made me frustrated even though I was making progress and the overall trend was downward! I'm not amazing, but thanks! Just a lot of hard work and determination in a little…

awesome thanks! I'll look those up :drinker:

I try to stay away from restaurants but I use this site and the online menus to plan ahead and gently suggest to my friends to pick somewhere else. Last week we went to one of my favorite little bistros where everything is prepared simply and they have KILLER martinis

I'm 28, just started using MFP a couple weeks ago, but I've been using some online tracker for a long time. It's helped a lot. So far I'm done about 95 pounds, with 35 more to go! Good luck to everyone!! Kim

I try to get protein with every meal. If I'm going to have an apple, I'll have some peanut butter with it, or greek yogurt with berries. Great website Thanks!

Put the utensils down between bites Don't eat alone, conversation helps you slow down chew each bite well, savor your food... it's nice to actually taste what you're eating, especially if you made it yourself Don't drink water with meals, it helps flush your food through the stomach, making you feel less full, and may…

I had lap band 2/24/2010. I feel amazing. It is truly the best thing I have ever done for myself! I've managed to lose about 95# (about half preop) and no longer have intense sciatic pain and have sooooo much energy. Hope you all are doing well. It's true there are lots of haters here, most of whom are misinformed and…

That is absolutely true. It's not just weight loss surgery, it applies to everyone. Learning that food= fuel is very hard. Unlearning deep rooted "truths" and behaviors can be the hardest part. Emotional eaters and food addicts need the most support, that's why counseling and things like OA are beneficial with or without…

The new recommended sodium guidelines are lower now recommend less than 1800mg/day, but I may be wrong on the exact number. Prior to that, the RDA was less than 2500mg/day . Remember there is 2000mg in every teaspoon of table salt. It adds up fast. For me, I don't look for salt free products, because packaged foods are…

Adverse side effects can mean anything from reflux to nausea and vomiting, which are predominantly self induced states- eating too much/too fast or too tight bands (read: overfill of saline). It is major sugery! There is the potential for post op complications as well. Band slippage, erosion, and port issues are possible,…

Good luck and congrats on your continued weight loss! Staying motivated and determined will carry you through. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. Kim

Most people who have Lap band are not recommended to eat 800cal/day or even less than 100cal/day. Starvation mode is real! Your bosy, at some point, will go into self-preservation mode to protect its vital functions. I felt this on my 5 day liquid preop diet of about 1200 calories. I also lost ONE POUND in this week, not…

I have not had gastric bypass but I am 6 months post op from lapband. I coulddn't be happier with my decision and feel amazing (I don't look too bad either ;) ) It is absolutely essential to follow your program and they vary by surgeon/hospital. Of course malnutrition and other complications are possible, but the majority…

Greek yogurt is my favorite! I use it in so many different ways. It's protein packed and much more filling than regula yogurt. It is higher in calories than yoplait or dannon and costs a little more, but it is worth it for more nutritious product that doesn't leave me hungry after. As a lap band patient, my protein intake…

Of course, it is not impossible to lose without surgery, But, long term it can be very hard to maintain. I cannot quote the studies right now, but several high profile studies have shown that most people regain the weight and only about 2% are able to keep it off "the old fashioned way." That said, I had lapband 6 months…
