  • I think it depends on how fast you lose it. Right now, I've lost 60lbs over the last eight months and have no need for skin removal. My inner thighs have gotten a little easier to grab, but that's it, but are nowhere near what I've seen in pictures of rapid weight loss. I honestly don't even think that my boobs have…
  • My sister had a hyperactive thyroid. She got sick and didn't want to eat anything in the summer. We thought it was weird but the doctor said it was just a summer cold. Turns out, it wasn't. After the cold went away, her appetite was really bad and she lost weight rapidly. Since she had always been overweight, she was very…
  • Goals -Fit into my "slim" jeans, which are one size down from what I've been wearing normally. -Reach my pre-wedding weight, which is a 10lbs loss since my last weigh in three weeks ago (I might have already made this but I only weigh myself once a month) -Go down another belt notch -Go on a few walks on my days off from…
  • For privacy regarding matters of personal stuff, I'd rather not open it up to the public. It's the same reason that my profile picture is a drawing of mine rather than my real face. If there were an option to open that to only people registered, I'd gladly do that. However, I can give you the low down... I consume about…
  • I've found that I've never successfully been able to do Slimfast, despite trying it a number of times since I was in high school. The only ones that I could ever drink were the chocolate ones. Vanilla was too sweet and strawberry milk makes me gag so strawberry Slimfast was out of the question. Slimfast made me sick to my…
  • Quit work, pay off my student loans, buy a house, buy a car, invest some money, buy a new computer and some nice video games that I've been wanting, complete my vintage toy collection, ration out the money so I could do $50,000/year for 50 years, pay off my sister's house, pay off my mom's mortgage, fix up my…
  • How is asking about advice in a sticky situation acting like a child?
  • I usually eat my tuna canned. It's usually just the reduced sodium Chicken of the Sea in water. I wouldn't mind baking it or cooking it myself. It's just canned is pretty convenient for me and easy for my husband to pick up at the grocery store. I'm just looking for good fish that's usually a decent price to replace…
  • My downfall is gummies. Forever and ever. Especially Lifesaver Gummies. What I found is that I really like the tartness of it, so I replace them with things like Granny Smith apples, blueberries, fresh pineapple, etc. If I really want the taste and texture, I go for a bag of the Fit and Active gummies. They have no added…
  • If Omega 3's and 6's are bad for you, why are they encouraged for heart health and even turned into capsule form to be taken as a daily dietary supplement? I'm blasted with as much "MAKE SURE YOU GET OMEGA 3 IN YOUR DIET FOR YOUR HEART!!" as much as I'm blasted with messages about antioxidants, fiber, protein, whole…
  • I am not a big sweets person, so I don't crave more than maybe a candy bar. Honestly, a single candy bar WON'T kill you, nor will it cause you to gain pounds back. It's only if you go out and grab a 30 piece Valentine's chocolate box and dig in, going so far as licking the wrappers. When I'm on my period, I crave either…
  • I had a friend who weighed 400ish pounds and then got gastric bypass surgery. She'd been overweight her entire life and the weight was finally coming off. She was really excited. A mutual friend, who was also very obese, told her to stop talking about it. Her excitement was never in excess, but just sort of a "I lost ___…
  • I saw this picture on another website and thought it was a really good idea: http://28.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m28bi2R0JD1qj4hmpo1_500.png
  • I read about a guy who lost weight (almost 30lbs) by eating (almost) nothing but junk food. This is his diet: Espresso, Double: 6 calories; 0 grams of fat Hostess Twinkies Golden Sponge Cake: 150 calories; 5 grams of fat Centrum Advanced Formula From A To Zinc: 0 calories; 0 grams of fat Little Debbie Star Crunch: 150…
  • Granny Smith! To me, red apples (not sure what they're called per se) have a weird aftertaste and Golden delicious are too sweet and too soft. I like my apples to be a little tart and to have a nice crispy crunch to them.
  • When I'm on my regularly planned meals (which I haven't been lately but I'm getting back on track), I don't go over my sugar by very much. Here is an example of a common day for me: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/diary/fireflyastoria?date=2011-05-05 I don't add sugar to anything but I still manage to eat 2 cups of…
  • Nicotine causes your heartrate to increase, thus increasing your metabolism. It's the same thing as caffeine pills that pose as weight-loss pills, only with a different chemical substance. Just add in a little more exercise if the weight gain bothers you. Everything should even out over time as your body adjusts to the…
  • Turkey burgers are a good option too! I fixed them for a get together last Saturday and they were SO good! And they had half the fat of a regular burger and were minimally processed so the sodium wasn't high. I've never tried a veggie burger before, so I can't endorse those, but turkey burgers are AWESOME.
  • Interesting how high-protein diets will lead to infertility...
  • I need to lose 100+lbs. Feel free to add me!
  • You're within normal weight range for your BMI. How much more are you planning to lose?
  • Oh ok! Good luck then! I'm also losing weight so that I can have children and be healthier for them so I can play and wrestle around with my future munchkins. :)
  • Welcome to MFP! And no one minds a slow start. I started slow! Even my slow start has allowed me to lose 10lbs. By the way, I looked at your signature. What's IVF?
  • I'm not overly concerned about this weekend, since my husband and I are hosting movie night so I'm going to be in control as to what is served and I'm going to the gym to bust up any extra calories that I'm going to have from dinner with my hubby (already calculated everything out before even buying it!). My only concern…
  • I was in a sort of similar situation... sort of. The lesson is that roommates tend to be royal pains no matter what unless you're in love with them. I was living with four other girls (first mistake) who didn't diet whatsoever. We all paid for our own food. No one shared anything. And that was perfectly fine by me. I was…
  • It takes a lot to go from eating things like potato chips and other junk/comfort food to eating healthy. I had to spread everything out in weekly goals and set up a system of rewards to finally work everything out with my tastebuds, my impulses, and my body. If you'd like to take a look at what I set up as weekly goals and…
  • Hefty amount of chicken (6oz) on sandwich with tomato, mild cheddar cheese, and Hellman's regular mayonnaise between two slices of 100% Wheat bread. • If you are working out really hard and breaking a heavy sweat then it isn't uncommon to be very thirsty. I work in a fast-paced restaurant as a cook and it gets pretty sweaty in that kitchen. I can go through 72oz (9 glasses) of water in a four hour shift and continue to drink after work to replenish my fluids. However, if…
  • It is possible to burn through those, since I burn through loads of calories just by being a cook at a restaurant. I can burn 1100 calories per 4 hour shift. It might be more, since it is intense and there's a lot of running around and heavy lifting to do as well, but I would rather burn more and not be aware of it than…
  • Thanks for all the replies guys! I still have two regular yogurts in my fridge, but I'll be looking into greek yogurt when I restock. You guys are awesome!
