I'm so excited to find this Challenge! In early July, I weighed in at 159.75. This was the first time I'd seen the 150's in about 5 years (i.e. since before my 2 pregnancies). Although, however happy I am to see the 150's, I will be even more happy to see them go (into the 140's of course). So I challenged myself to lose…

asjerven, just got back from BodyFLOW. My favorite part is the relaxation at the end!! I'm convinced to go for it (losing the 10 pounds by Labor Day, that is). I peeked at the scale while at the gym tonight, and I am down another 1/2 pound.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that my last 2 weigh-ins at the gym (Sat and Tues) were both under 160! Not by much: 159.75, but still, I haven't seen 150's since before my kids were born, and my oldest one is nearly 5. I thought Sat's might be a fluke, so I waited until I had a second confirmation to say anything. But what…

Just finished Week 1!! I got up early again today to do Week 1, day 3. I figured I'd never get it done later in the day. I'm learning a little more with each run. Simple things, but each little bit helps: I have been running in my basement on a treadmill, so today I didn't bother wearing a shirt, just ran in my sports bra,…

Week 1, Day 2 complete! I did it - I got up early. Now I've showered, but still sweating, so I'm having a hard time getting dressed and putting makeup on! Of course I had to pick the most humid day to do so this... ;-)

BrunetteWife, thanks for your reply. I've been sleeping in until almost 9 for the last 4 days while on vacation, I don't know how I'm going to drag myself out of bed before 6:30am tomorrow! I guess the motivation is that the workout will be done, and I won't have to try to fit it in later in the day.

I started Week 1, day 1 today. I wanted to tell someone, so I'd be accountable to do day 2 on Monday. What time of day do you find works best for your runs? I have 2 small girls, and I'm thinking early morning before work might be the best time for me, but I am so not a morning person, that I'm not sure how I'll get myself…

Is anyone else ready to provide updates on how well they're keeping their 2010 goals? Fitness goals: X - start the Couch to 5k program - started it, got bronchitis, and dropped out. Time to start over! X - run a 5k in April - did not run the 5k in April. Maybe June? ? - run a 10k in September - there's still time to run…

Yep, ignorance is bliss. I was on the treadmill tonight before "Robert" told me I had to run 90sec / walk 2 min for 6 intervals. I don't know what next week holds, and based on the amount of freaking out above, maybe that's a good thing!

I just finished W2D1, and boy, those extra 30 seconds (going from 60 sec to 90 sec) are a killer! I'm sure it will be easier on day 2... (right?!)... Oh, and those extra pounds I complained about in my last post really were PMS-pounds! I weighed myself today, and I reached my target weight for Jan 15. I have 12 days to…

Hi All, I thought I would check in and let you know where I'm at... My treadmill is set up now, and I did W1D1 on Wednesday this week and just finished W1D2 tonight (Friday). I did a Pilates Mat class on Tuesday, and a BodyFlow class on Thursday. I've made lots of other small changes over the last two weeks, drinking my…

Great thread! I have the smaller-size crockpot, so I'm not sure I could fit all the ingredients in for some of the suggested dishes, but I have certainly gained a renewed interest in my slow cooker. My favorite crockpot recipe was an experiment that turned out great, and is now a regular meal in our house. We call it…

Ha ha ha, leave it to a man to add alcohol as a salad dressing! That is hilarious! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I like salads, but I prefer them when someone else makes them for me! They always seem to taste better that way. One of my favorites that my sister made for me is made with arugula, cherry tomatoes, avocado, pine…

Me, me, me!! I was planning on starting the C25k program next week, and I would be sooo happy to have a group of people to run with and be accountable to... Long story short, I did a C25k-type program in 2003 and then ran in two 5 mile races that summer (=8k for the metric folks), so I can guarantee you that it works, if…

I was diagnosed with PCOS about 20 years ago, when I was 17 and started complaining about facial hair growth. I went through hormone testing, ovarian ultrsounds, etc. With no regular menstrual cycles, my 'treatment' was to take birth control pills. I was told at the time that I may have difficulty getting pregnant, however…

Yes, there is a way to change it. I included it in my post above, but I'll make it stick out more. To change your Carb/Protein/Fat percentages: Go to "My Home" Go to "Goals" Click on "Change Goals" Pick "Custom" Click "Continue" Change the Carb, Protein and Fat percentages to what you want (ex. 40, 30, 30) Click "Change…

MFP by default sets you up with 55% carbs, 15% protein, and 30% fat. You can modify these goals, so that they are more in tune with your preferred eating plan. For example, I typically follow a more "Zone" oriented diet, which is 40% carbs, 30% protein and 30% fat. What I did is edit the goals with my preferences so that…
