Not only have I made better eating choices of what I put IN my mouth yesterday and today - I have also made good choices of what I kept OUT of my mouth: I avoided pizza and garlic cheese fingers yesterday, and chocolate cupcakes today. No exercise yet, but I'll get there. First day of work was good - just getting settled…

Sorry I've been MIA this month. I've been busy with the work transition, and finally start my new job tomorrow! I'm looking forward to this fresh start as an opporunity to reset my priorities, and make healthy eating and exercise a part of my daily life again. I've accepted that I am not going to make the 5 pound challenge…

Ok, the official results were in yesterday: I lost 5 pounds in January, and I am ready to do so again in February. Feb 1: 148 Note to self: I know that you are really comfortable at this weight (150 plus or minus 5). Everytime you get to this weight, you somehow manage to either gain or maintain. What I want to tell you,…

Jan 1: 153 Jan 6: 150 Jan 13: 149 Jan 20: 149 Jan 27: 148 Feb 1: 148 I did it!! -5 lb in January. See you in February's thread.

Congrats to all the successes this month!! :drinker: I'll be doing my official end of Jan / beginning of Feb weigh-in tomorrow, on Feb 1. Plus, it'll motivate me to behave one more day! Then I have to behave on Wed/Thurs because my regular weekly weigh-in is on Fridays.

I'll be joining again. I mean, how could I not? This challenge has been a part of my life since July 2010. Too bad I didn't always meet the goal. Maybe it's cause I want to keep posting with you guys every month! haha! I'll check in tomorrow with my official starting weight (SW). I'm excited, as I'm on track to lose my 5lb…

55, that's great!!! So happy for you! I know it's been a struggle lately, but hopefully this drop on the scale will be the motivation you need to keep at it!

Jan 1: 153 Jan 6: 150 Jan 13: 149 Jan 20: 149 Jan 27: 148 Yippee! I've lost 5 pounds this month! I can't remember the last time I actually reached goal in this challenge. I know part of it has to do with the holiday bloating and therefore a higher starting weight, but hey - I'll take it! Now, to keep it off for 5 more days!

It's Thursday, and I have been on track since Monday! :drinker: Weigh-in is tomorrow, so I'm hoping for that final pound lost to reach this month's goal with a few days to spare. Looks like I'll have a mid-week weigh-in next week for the final month-end results, which will help keep me on track next week. Bru - thanks for…

Monday... And I'm back with my tail between my legs... I had a terrible weekend; my eating was pretty much out of control most of the time. Weight is back up. So frustrated with myself! :explode:

Jan 1: 153 Jan 6: 150 Jan 13: 149 Jan 20: 149 Still 1 more to go. Doing better now than I was earlier this week... Unfortunately, I am very inconsistent. I am truly wondering if much of it has to do with hormones. I'm seriously considering getting off my BC pills, but that means first figuring out another method of…

Ok, I stuck to my plan for lunch: greek salad with grilled chicken. I've been drinking lots of water, plus a few cups of green tea. On to my next challenge: supper! I'll let you know how it turns out. I can do it! One day at a time...

I just realized that I have my weekly weigh-in tomorrow, and I don't want to have to report a gain this week, so I am going to be angelic today, and see if I can at least get a maintain weight tomorrow morning. I have lunch out today for a co-worker that's leaving, but I've been to the restaurant before, and will have the…

I'm still on the slippery slope; just trying not to end up in a ball of flames. Perhaps I figured out a part of why I was feeling so crappy on Monday... I found out that the 3rd Monday of January has been calculated to be the most depressing day of the year; and is called Blue Monday. Here are some bits of the article:…

If you're looking for cost-effective in order to raise money, then I don't think buying organic or free-range is going to help. You can still offer healthy choices, but maybe not to that extreme. What about sandwiches or pizza bagels? If those are too complicated with respect to food preparation, what about these…

Ok, I have to pick up the pieces before I fall apart over here. My Friday rest day turned into a 3-day rest; with no exercise over the weekend. Saturday included a trip to the movies to see my all-time favorite: Beauty and the Beast in 3D. Had some movie popcorn, but chose chicken and a side salad instead of fries when we…

Jan 1: 153 Jan 6: 150 Jan 13: 149 Down 4 pounds; 1 more to go! Then it's on to the bonus round! I've been doing C25k type running workouts for the last 4 days in a row. I think today will be a rest/stretch day or a walk. I've also "hit the wall" with my low-carb diet, I was doing fine for about a week, but now I am craving…

When I was at the gym yesterday, I weighed myself on the gym scale, which is the official scale on which I need to lose 10 pounds for the "FREE" membership. With the holiday bloating gone, and perhaps some lighter workout clothing compared to my work attire, I am currently down 3.5 pounds. Only 6.5 more to go until end of…

This was a great video, Terri - I was even more enthralled by the drawing illustrations.

Oh! I forgot to update with my weigh-in last Friday, Jan 6: 150. Down 3 pounds. Bye-bye holiday bloat! 2 more to go!
-
@Terri, maybe your weight is 'loose' and after jumping around a bit will finally drop! I will definitely be working at your fruit / veggie challenge. The way I am doing it is by ensuring that I have a fruit / veggie with every meal in a variety of colors. Today, I have already eaten some strawberries and blueberries…

@55, Way to go, girl!!! We're going to stay focused today, and tomorrow, and the day after that, and so on. One day at a time, we will reach our goals!! We can do it!

My work breakfast went well: had some plain yogurt with pears and peaches, a hard boiled egg, and a piece of broccoli and bacon frittata (I picked a piece that didn't have much bacon). I went to the gym on Friday at lunch for a Couch to 5k workout - I've lost a lot of my running ability (that's what you get for taking a…

Ok, day 2 is nearly under my belt. So far, so good. I will check in tomorrow, since I need to weigh myself tomorrow morning for my starting weight for my 10-10-10 challenge. I will also be presented with my first major temptation: we have a work sponsored breakfast meeting tomorrow morning. I will stick to eggs, fruit, and…

On day 2 of my soon-to-be triumphant return!! I have plans to go walking with a friend at lunch. I have packed a large salad for lunch, as well as a few healthy snacks to get me through the day. I'm drinking my water and my green tea. :drinker: I have joined a new gym. You pay for a 3-month membership, and they…

Fun topic! I've been told I look like "Piper" from Charmed: Holly Marie Combs. <-- this is me... and this is her:

I'm mentally preparing myself to get back on track starting tomorrow.

Whoa, seriously? 18 pages by Jan 2? I have a lot of catching up to do, but of course, count me in this month, as always. My starting weight, with holiday bloat, is: 153. My goal in Dec was to maintain, and although I started the month at 150, 5 days in I was already at 152, so overall, considering how much I've indulged…
-
I peeked again today, and am still "under-150". Not by much, but at least I'm maintaining during this hectic time.
-
@55 - I had been having trouble getting motivated to exercise as well. I went walking with a friend last night, and made hubby put the kids to bed. Two birds, one stone! Let's keep it up! Today was one of those days where I felt like all I had been waiting for all day is bedtime. So, I'm going to head there right…
