my husband has been on the slow carb diet for awhile so I've been learning to cook with that in mind. Here are a few: Kidney Bean Salad (slow carb more than low)- http://www.seestephrun.com/2013/03/06/barre-challenge-weigh-in-and-slow-carb-kidney-bean-salad/ Moroccan Chicken Stuffed Portobellos -…

You need to be careful about this- make sure you are eating healthy fats and not just eating fats to gain calories. For example- what kind of oil and how much? And chicken thighs are higher in fat that breasts. Mayo- also not the best option. More dressing- more oil and fat. You are MUCH better served by gaining calories…

Given the amount of calories you are burning, plus your weight and height- you are not eating enough. You've actually lost a decent amount of weight but you won't be able to keep this off long term because you are not taking in enough fuel. There are a lot of competing views on this site- personally, I find a lot of them…

hey lady :) Don't feel let down! Honestly- where did you get your calorie number from? MFP sets REALLY low numbers- too low for a lot of people. While I followed MFPs number my weight loss stalled. As soon as I took some outside advice and increased my cals, I dropped 10 pounds in 60 days. So I am looking at a few days of…

omg me and chocolate.. It is becoming a love story. I love B9 and I love myfitnespal so this group is awesome! I am a TAD nervous this challenge- had to cut back to the skinny jeans version but I am running more so.... I am ready to do this!

Accountability is a good thing! so I tell myself......
-
what do you think is a cheat? In the last few months I've focused on NOT dieting- instead just eating cleaner and trying to stay accountable. For example, I craved a pizza so I made a healthier version of one. I was craving a creamy chicken alfredo, I made lighter creamy pasta. Sometimes if I want a sweet, I try and find a…

I totally agree. This program has revolutionized my approach to health- and I've heard so many others say this too! I think it is a combination of the workout, the amazing instructors and this awesome community!

this is inspiring!

honestly... you need to try and eat more than just twice a day. Pack a lunch or prepare breakfasts ahead of time that you can grab and take with you to school and work. Also pack some low cal snacks. Also, I agree with other posters, you need more fiber. Also- while you are eating the number of calories, it is what you are…

still laughing about this line...

It just feels silly to debate you. Different bodies react differently- you don't have to have a definable medical condition for that to be true. I can see that you are the type that won't consider other people's opinions though. You have an idea that you believe is right and that's that. I've learned long ago that there is…

Thanks for the explanation but I have to be honest with you- you are wrong. To think there is one thing that works for every body is misguided. I know what I was doing then vs what I am doing now and how that has changed my overall health. And for me- such a short eating window would not work with my body. Just because it…

I really do think it varies by person. I am a tiny person. If I ate all my calories in such a short window... I would rapidly gain. I know this because I used to have a work schedule that forced that type of eating schedule and that is when I gained all my weight. And I was not eating my calories in unhealthy ways. These…

I guess maybe I am just massively confused about IF then. So if you do a 12 hour window.. that could be say 8pm-8am? If that is the case then I suppose I technically do that too? I never eat after 8-830 and I don't usually have breakfast until 9am. It's not a conscious fast, it's more the fact that when I started getting…

Under eating or excessive cardio aren't any better, IMO. I am not in any way advocating for that. Under eating won't help long term health or weight loss. I talked about metabolic slowdown but I would certainly never advocate for that.

I suppose it's one of those things where no one will agree on the right course. I've worked with nutritionists, doctors and PTs- all of whom have told me to avoid any sort of fasting regimen and instead pursue small meals. For me, small, balanced meals and frequent workouts have helped me lose most of the weight I set out…

I can't at all see how this would be beneficial. If you are exercising, you need the calories and nutrition necessary to power your body through. I've seen far more studies that show small meals every couple of hours is far more effective than fasting. By fasting, you aren't doing anything at all to keep your metabolism…
