  • I have to throw my hat in to the metabolic damage ring. I also lost weight (about 45 lbs) going low carb, low calorie. I have gained back 20 lbs, but that is because I went back to eating like I used to. The most important thing I learned about low carb dieting when I started, was that I read that you have to give your…
  • Ich studierte Deutsch für zwei Jahren an der Uni, und ich will auch nicht zu vergessen! Mein Mann und ich sind nach München und Wien reisen im nächsten Jahr.
  • Oh, there is NO way I believe that. Seriously. Try again.
  • Have you ever been to the ballet? What, you think those women all weigh 125 lbs? Right.
  • That sounds accurate, if she wants to be a professional dancer. They get weighed, you know. All the outrage in the world isn't going to change the way professional ballet operates.....
  • I just wanted to post and give you some support for your predicament. I'm not a dancer, but I was sort of a part of that scene for awhile several years ago. So I know where are coming from. The two things I see from your diary are 1) OMG YOU NEED MORE PROTEIN. Sooooooo much!!! However, being vegan, I don't have a lot of…
  • You seem to have a very high level of anxiety at the idea of gaining any weight, based on past posts. On this topic alone, you seem extremely concerned since you have posted about it at least 3 times in the last couple of weeks - since no one here is legitimately qualified to give you medical advice, I suggest you take…
  • Alrighty then! Good luck with that.
  • I looked at your diary...your protein and your fat are both too low. Both are things your body needs...and they are what will make you feel full. The carbs are a bonus only for energy. Keep those carbs down around 100g, up your protein to 100g, and get your fats in (from healthy foods). Bet you won't be feeling so hungry…
  • As I read last week about a similar post......no, life isn't fair. Yes, losing weight is hard. If losing weight was easy, everyone would be fit and healthy. Open your diary for more suggestions. You've implied you eat a lot of protein...at 1290 cal you should be getting over 100g protein a day. How are your fats? Don't…
  • I'll fight you for him! Or, we could just share..... ;-)
  • Twinsies!!!! You are my new BFF!!
  • I had/am losing 50ish pounds, going from about 170 to about 120. I'm 5'3". A coworker first noticed after I lost 15 pounds which I was VERY surprised by. Eeeeeeeveryone started making comments after 30-35 pounds lost. However, due to my genetics, my face (double chin) is the last place I lose. I had a big gut when i…
  • Is this a low carb diet you're doing? Kind of looks like it, from your diary. I'm doing low carb also. "Carb Flu" is fairly common for low carbers the first week. The headache should be gone by the end of the first week. However, I don't think I've ever heard it described as being on one side of your head the way you have.…
  • And this is my husband's first tv crush......
  • *SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGGHHHH* And on behalf of my sister who is 45, her answer is Shaun Cassidy, Andy Gibb, and Jimmy McNichol.
  • Oh wait, can I take back my answer of Ricky Schroeder?? Cause I just remembered how in love I was with Tom Wopat (Luke, not Bo...)
  • Twinsies!!!! Also, Jason Bateman was pretty cute too....
  • See your Dr. Below 60 is not ideal (as per my conversation with my Dr. last time around)...he said they reeeeeaaallly want to see it over 60. Mine is always in the 60s and has only dipped below a couple of times so we've not had to do anything about it yet.
  • Based on what I can see in your diary, it's WHAT you're eating, not how much you're eating. I think your carbs (of which sugar is a part) are too high - you should aim for under 100g net carbs per day (total carbs minus total fiber - you can switch from tracking sugar to fiber instead). If it works for you, you can safely…
  • Looooots of women (women especially) will disagree that it's as simple as calories in/out. I looked at your diary and I think the reason you are losing so slowly is that your carbs are too high. Try upping your protein and lowering your carbs to under 100g NET per day (start tracking fiber instead of sugar, net carbs are…
  • OMG. Reading this thread was torture. Signed, major cereal lover.

  • Seems level of exercise is key. Strength training or runner = need the carbs. Sedentary people (or people with insulin resistance) = need to reduce the carbs.
  • BTW - low carbs = 30 pounds lost in 5 months.
  • Heh, this is a sensitive topic for me....In 4 months on these boards, I have noticed a very distinct pattern. The vast majority of men answering your question will say it's only calories in/calories out, and carbs don't matter. And that you need your carbs (this especially from men who do lifting). Half the women who will…
  • How much is MFP telling you should be your daily calorie allotment? How tall are you/current weight? When did you start eating fewer carbs? How many net carbs per day are you consuming? I do low carb, (50g - 75g net carbs per day), and the headache is really, really common in the beginning. Mine went away after 3 or 4…
  • Sugars = carbs. Same thing. If you want to eat low carb, your fruits will have to be lowered, at least for awhile. I'm older than you, but the same weight targeting the same goal. I also eat low carb. I do not follow a specific plan (SB or Atkins), I do my own. I aim for 50g net carbs per day (total carbs minus total fiber…

  • You will not get any judgements from me about eating the occasional crap. I still eat fast food once a week or so, I like my junk snacks sometimes, I'm not big on cooking, but I still found ways to do what I needed for my diet to get my calories and my macros where they should be. Here is what I think after looking at your…
  • Since you said you definitely have fiber in your diet - did you also increase your water intake when you increased your fiber? Part of the reason 64 oz. a day of water is a standard recommendation has to do with also assuming you have enough fiber in your diet. Fiber won't work without the water...in fact, it generally…
