*than wondering, not then wondering....sorry, was in a hurry.

I can't wait for me to be "motivated" to work out in the morning--the only thing that works for me is being "prepared." I bribe myself by setting the automatic coffee maker the night before to start brewing at 5:30 so that when the alarm rings, i know there's a nice little something waiting for me once i get going. If…

Ahh--i'm late. Start: 158; this week: 156.

Unfortunately, my gym, which I do love, has neither body bars nor barbells. Maybe i'll try squatting with regular dumbells next time and see what that does. My grip strength isn't great so i'll be squatting less weight but maybe that'll be offset by the greater range of motion. I do feel that the smith machine is a bit…

From a brief glance at some forums, i see that people really discourage the smith machine, for the squats, but if your gym doesn't have a squat rack, what's the recommended alternative?

Can I join? It's been a looong time since i've lost at a rate of 2lbs per month so my goal for april was to see what it took to do that and to crack into the 140's...so this would be perfect! sw 158 i think, april goal 148.

Sounds like a fabulous idea. Funny about the prone jacknife--i think for sure i'm doing it wrong b/c it doesn't feel that hard. Well, other than the not falling off to the side deal. But I don't feel like i get into a full pike. i'm going to have to google it and see how it's done.

I'm doing it too and am just at the end of the first phase! I think there is another disc group: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/160984-new-rules-of-lifting-for-women Don't know if that'll work.

Let's do it! There's still 6 weeks of this one yes?
-
I'm going a little slower than i thought i would--but still in the right general direction (did i mention slooowly?) :/
-
Just started new rules :). Did the first workout just today and am already sore--tomorrow morning will be fun!

this thread motivated me to go buy The New Rules of Weightlifting for Women...we'll see how it goes but i'm excited! thanks hsinster :0)

changing muscle composition is key...when i lost weight years ago w/o strength training, i was smaller but my clothes fit exactly the same (e.g., not the way i wanted). true, it was a smaller size, but the fit issues were the same. :)

So, i'm pretty new to this thread.. Curious--what has worked best for those of you who have managed to lose weight (and still identify with this board :))--cut it out altogether? Try and budget some calories for it? This is almost always the reason i'm over on my calories and am looking for ideas. I see a lot of…

Here!

That's an awesome idea! One of my resolutions the last couple of years has included "become more high maintenance" :). Now, i'm not that superficial but it stems from the same sentiment echoed here--the "what happened to the cuteness?" And i don't even have kids as an excuse. For example--i' m finally getting a haircut…

I've been almost in the exact same boat--including starting weight--then this week i went down a couple of pounds. Maybe sometimes it just takes your system some time to figure out what's going on. Keep at it :).

You can do it!
-
I like it!
-
also--weigh in was -0.8 (162.2)

Went to a get together yesterday evening. Ordinarily, i wouldn't make myself try to track all the grazing. I got on and tried today. Even "underguesstimating" it was scary; but it was done!
-
I think this'll be a great group! Hooray for tracking through the week and now the weekend--that would make it the first time i'll have made myself track through two consecutive weekends.

If it's not too late, i'd like to join as well! Starting at 163. Seventysix06
