Today. Split Pea Soup with Corn Tortillas and jalapenos. Banana for dessert. Oh and 3 cups of popcorn with butter during the movie. "Christmas with Holly" One of my favorite Hallmark Movies!!

I use pinterest for recipes. Yesterday I made some lovely chickpeas with smoked paprika, garlic....yum I just learned that eating chickpeas increases the good bacteria in your bowels by crowding out the bad ones.

I read recently of a young woman getting ready for surgery...She started working with the dietician ...and lo and behold she lost weight....She continued working with the dietician....and never signed up for the surgery... I'm a nurse and have seen a lot of problems...my neighbor has been in and out of the hospital ever…

Thanks for sharing. I was laughing yesterday...I harvested 4 small potatoes....I could see my Dad rolling on the clouds laughing...at my great endeavor. My daughter is so much a better gardener than me...she can grow potatoes and sweet potatoes. so fun.

This thread is encouraging; hearing that many of you have been stuck. You are all still here and you just worked through it. The scale is stuck right before onderland...I had such great hopes that I would be under 200 for our anniversary. After reading these comments, I know I must persist.

This is amazing...scripture memorization. I do memorize scriptures....I put them in the shower...in plastic sheet covers...and everyday...I'm working on it. I found a journal, that has scriptures on the outside...I though I would put the scriptures in it that I've memorized...and some stickers for fun.…

Food is chemicals....and chemicals effect your body. Refined foods that spike your insulin...raise the insulin in your blood stream and then it is hard for your body to use fat ( hyper insulinism blocks your fat cells from releasing fat to be used as energy) and so your body will demand energy...If you eat refined foods…

I agree too, One of the reasons I've started is I would get so sick to my stomach overeating. I now realize ..a meal of 500 kcal is plenty....and I get to eat again in a little while...no big deal...

Thanks for responding...I'm glad to be back...I like the idea that I put in what I eat everyday. Plus, great people to chat with. I have about 60 pounds to lose. Let's be friends and encourage each other.

I just started on MFP again. I've lost 25 pounds 63 pounds to go. I'm eating 4 small balanced meals =1600 kcal. I'm starting to exercise again. I'm 63...a nurse.. This looks like a good discussion group.

Changing your eating habits with the whole family is the way to go. My husband is doing this with me...and he is so supportive...we make meals together...we count calories together...walk together...It's the way to go.

My job! I have back pain and I've missed 4 days of work already...and one more and I will have to have a meeting with my boss. And the next ...I'm out the door. Scary. My back needs to be stronger...so with weight loss and exercise...I'm hoping I won't be sick again before Oct. 1.

I think what is helping me is eating 4 meals instead of 3...making them well rounded so that I feel I was actually fed. I do like a tablespoon of chocolate chips once in a while for a chocolate fix.

Thanks for sharing. I just started and it was suggested I eat 1200...I just knew I couldn't eat that few...and stay on it. I eat 1600 and haven't been eating my exercise cals...I'm thinking this is working...I will watch how the weight loss goes for a month and then reassess. You look like you are doing well.

I think you should only weigh once a week...but I get curious...and as long as it's trending down...I'm ok. But if it goes up then I want to reduce food more...which isn't real healthy....so I would suggest once a week with a peek.:laugh: :laugh:bigsmile:
