I've had at least one cheat meal a week since I started this back on the 5th March 2012 and I have never eaten as low as 1400, or even close to, calories a day and it didn't impact my weight loss in a negative way at all. In fact the impact was all positive because I never denied myself something if I wanted it.

Amazing transformation, you look fantastic. Congratulations.

I have actually heard about the Spinning® studio, even from some 4000 miles away on the other side of the Atlantic as I have read a couple of articles and interviews with that Master Instructor, she does indeed seem awesome. If I am ever in that area, seems unlikely but never say never, I will be sure to check it out.…

I don't see that happening any time soon. I do get lonely sometimes I have made some great friends over the last 13 or so months and while it would be nice to have someone special in my life, to share cuddles with, to share special moments with and to love, I'm actually okay on my own 90% of the time so I'm just going to…

A little update. On Tuesday morning of this week at 9:30am UK time I had the biggest NSV of all the NSV's I've had on this journey when I climbed onto the instructors bike in the studio at the gym and taught my very first Spinning® class. I didn't have too much time to think about it as I only found out on Monday afternoon…

Can I just get clarification of the rules here? Am I right in thinking you actually have to have a first date before you can say no to the second date? I think this is where I'm going wrong, no first dates. :brokenheart:

Thank you to everyone for their very kind comments, it means a lot and shows what a great place MFP is.
-
Don't have doubts, you can do it, you are indeed not too old.
-
You are correct, some days I don't eat healthy at all but you know what? It doesn't undo the hard work, it's nice be able to do it and a little of what you fancy does indeed do you good.
-
I'm sorry for your loss. I know how hard that is but at least you are using those dark moments to change your life for the better. They would be very proud of you.

Me too, and it still does every time I think of it. When I hit the water on June the 2nd for the start of the triathlon that is what I'll have in my head.

Started on the 5th March last year and broke the 100lbs lost mark 27 weeks later.

May I suggest, given the no bra plan, that you do a lot of push-ups, chest presses and chest flys before then.
-
An amazing transformation, you look younger, healthier and dare I say it happier. Congratulations

Same as I eat now and have for the last year I have been doing this. There is nothing I haven't allowed myself if I wanted it so there is nothing I am desperate to have.
-
Yep, I started at 332 on the 5th of March last year and currently, well current the last time I weighed on the 5th of February, I am 203.

You would have to be eating enormous amounts of protein for any excess to be turned into fat after the body has used what it needs for tissues repair, hair growth and so on. Eating a bit higher than needed protein will pretty much only result in expensive urine as it is excreted by the kidneys. I'm not sure what MFP has me…

I eat 4 hard boiled eggs a day, 2 for breakfast and 2 as a snack at work in the evening. No issues to report, and I wouldn't expect there to be. Wanting to place some of the eggs on a bed of straw and sit on them now and again isn't a side effect is it?

I've been working toward it for a while, and got close several times and only missed it by 2 tenths of a second last time I tried it, but today I finally broke 1 minute 30 seconds for 500m on the rowing machine with a time of 1:28.3. The first time I got on a rower nearly a year ago, when I had only just joined the gym and…

I stand in awe at your achievement, you are the epitome of inspiration. Thank you for sharing your story and many congratulations on your success.

When I started this I weighed once a week on a Sunday morning and never weighed in more frequently than that. Six months into it I switched to weighing once a month, I weigh on the 5th because I started this on the 5th March 2012. I don't want to spend my life fixated on a number on a scale, there are far more important…

100+ pounds lost without surgery. Started on 5th March 2012 at 332lbs, pic is from when I broke through 110lbs lost and currently at 203lbs, 129lbs lost.

I agree, it is worth spending the extra cents on the good toilet paper so you are doing the right thing. Carry on.

The first time I walked through the door of my gym last March I was 52 years old and weighed 332lbs, I had gone through the same worries as you, and sure it was a bit nerve-racking but at least I was in there and you know what? I wasn't the only big person in there; we have these preconceived ideas that the place will be…
