I prefer running outside it's more interesting and I like the fresh air. When I first started running I hated being away from my treadmill, now I find running on the treadmill mentally painful and I avoid it like the plague -- not a good attitude for the winter.

Amen to that Aggie65. I used to be able to lose 3-5 lbs a week, now I work my tail off and am happy for a 1 lb loss. Sigh, youth truly is wasted on the young. :)

Well, at least give it a try. If you hate it then you never have to do it again. Conversely, you may find that nothing bad happens and you enjoy the fresh air and change of scenery.

I would add a few pre-mixed protein drinks for snacks or even as meal substitutes. I like the Myoplex Lite's Dark Chocolate Fudge. It has about 20 grams of protein and 170 calories. The Atkins shakes are pretty good too.

What happened to those days when I was in my 20's and 30's when i could cut out soda and lose 3 pounds a week? On the backside of 40 I am exercising my butt off for a weekly weight loss of 0.5 pounds... so frustrating! I want my originally issued equipment back in it's original working order!!!
