  • I have that exact HRM and love it, but I dont wear it for walking, only more heavy working out /cardio activity. I find it easy to use. I also do not eat back any exercise calories so for me personally, it doesn't matter how accurate it is. I just like knowing the number it says.
  • You don't need to do that with the HR, it is already going to calculate the calories burned during the class when she's wearing it.
  • it is SOO difficult for me to get a lot of steps in one day. I have a sedentary job. Before I started trying to increase my steps, I was lucky if I got 2500 steps in one day. I don't count steps during exercise, only daily regular activity or walking on purpose. There are no steps at my office (one floor) and it is a tiny…
  • Start with eating back half and if you're not losing weigh, then eat back less. also remember, the HRM is only accurate for steady state cardio.
  • check out Fitnessblender.com they have a ton of really great ones

  • this started happening on and off again this week - as expected, because this happens every 3 months!!!
  • 2 things - first, click on the negative adjustment and check the time of the last sync from Fitbit to MFP - many times, it breaks and it may have not updated all day, so it hasn't gotten the updated calorie adjustment after you input your workouts. If it has recently updated, then the second thing to check is what you have…
  • The names of the meals and number of meals on both sides have to match. If you have "Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon Snack, Dinner" setup on MFP side, they need to match on Fitbit side in order to sync properly.
  • Fitbit, unless it is the HRM doesn't track calories burned for any exercise that isn't step based. Log those on the MFP side.
  • if you have a 500 calorie difference in your goal between Fitbit and MFP then you probably need to increase your activity level on MFP so it gives you more calories. They should match as closely as possible. A 0.5 lb per week weight loss = 250 calorie deficit per day. So just look at what Fitbit says you burn and subtract…
  • I thought it wasn't out for a few more days. I'm not seeing it in the store, is it on Android yet??
  • For me personally, I don't eat back ANY of my exercise calories, no matter how much I burn, and I use an HRM. The reason is because I have an extremely sedentary day outside of my workouts and I'm trying to eat a 500 calorie deficit. On a day I don't workout, I'm lucky if I burn 1700 calories, so 1200 is my calorie goal.…
  • I'm still working on increasing my daily steps, started around 2000/day and I'm up to 5500/day. So for April, my goal is 75 miles
  • Until she went on the pill, my sister used to get really really bad cramps and basically "couldn't function" at all. Although, I think everybody's pain tolerance is difference, and I obviously have no idea what kind of pain she was actually experiencing. I don't think "something is wrong with you" if its so bad that it…
  • When you select "Frequent foods" it only has that particular meal selected, unless you manually change it to all meals. So if you normally log the vitamins under breakfast, but you are then looking at the frequent foods for lunch, you won't see them. And since the frequency for "all meals" is based on everything you've…
  • I was looking at this the other day and while the containers seem like a really good idea, they also seem extremley unrealistic for most situations. For example, let's say you are going to have some kind of Chicken for dinner, with some kind of sauce on top and maybe some other toppings. While each of the components may…
  • I've had the Polar FT4 for a year and I've never had one issue with it. Even though you had a bad experience, it may have just been a dud, I'd definitely still recommend it.
  • I was thinking the same thing, its not even September yet and how do you go from Sept to May of the same year? lol
  • It will, for another 3 months until this happens again.
  • Mine started synching normally again on Monday night. You can check to make sure they are still linked.. just don't unlink/relink again.
  • thanks for posting this, at least they posted something about it. BUT, this happens sooooooo often, there is obviously a deeper issue and they keep acting like its a new issue. Its not a new issue. And it needs to be fixed permanently, not for 3 months until it happens again. I'm calling it now, we'll all be complaining…
  • because this isn't about linking the 2 accounts, its about the sync stopping working after months of working. Its two totally different things.
  • this is a totally different issue, i'd post/ask in a different thread from this one.
  • update, seems like fibit is SLOWLY getting my food entries from MFP now, like one foot item at a time and VERY delayed. Still not getting my calorie adjustment on the MFP side though.
  • Mine stopped working (from both sides) this morning, Fitbit isn't getting my meals from MFP and MFP isn't getting my calorie adjustment from Fitbit. This happens WAY too often. I've tried unlinking like 10 times today, I'm not doing it anymore.
  • "over a week"? How often are you weighing yourself? it should be once a week.
  • What do you mean My Fitness Pal says 160 calories burned? Are you entering walking the dog as an exercise? Fitbit is a pedometer, it counts your steps and includes your BMR. I personally wouldn't be logging a dog walking as an extra exercise activity. Just let the fitbit count it and adjust your calories burned for the…

  • that makes no sense. You only burn 600 calories in a day with 15,000 steps???? Edit - just re-read this, do you mean Fitbit is giving you an extra 600 calories on top of what MFP is giving you? - If that's the case, then it adjusts your daily calorie goal. I don't count regular daily activity/walking as exercise calories.…
