  • sounds good, but I don't eat "cream of anything" soups, or any canned soups..
  • When it gives you a 500 calorie adjustment on MFP it means that you've burned 500 more calories by that time of day, than what MFP thought you would burn. It is basically assuming that level of activity is going to continue for the rest of the day, and when it does, it slowly begins lowering the calorie adjustment.
  • how many calories and fat is in that?
  • I eat plain Fage 0%. It is 170 g (6 oz) container. 100 calories, 18g protein, 7g carbs, 7g sugar. I add my own berries to it.
  • Um, if you are measuring your peanut butter with a tablespoon I can pretty much guarantee you are eating much more than a tablespoon. Weigh it.
  • I'm a size 38D bra. I own two of the moving comfort bras in the style called Juno and I absolutely love them. They have a racerback but a clasp at the back like a regular bra. The shoulders adjust easily. There is no underwire or anything like that, but surprisingly holds everything in place VERY well. I had tried a ton of…
  • if you still can't find it in the database (I've found meats are very difficult to locate correctly), search for it here: http://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/search and then create your own custom entry.
  • I've tried forcing myself to retry different foods and for me, it never works. I end up hating what I'm eating, so then I just eat more later because I'm still not satisfied. There are a lot of healthy things that I simply cannot stand to eat. Basically most raw vegetables repulse me. I can stand baby carrots if they are…
  • You can log it on either side, the calories will still be overridden for that time period.
  • I use a fitbit and when I got it I realized just how sedentary I was. I was doing about 2600 steps per day back in January. Since then, I've started increasing my daily steps and Monday I'll be increasing to 7000 steps per day!! It is VERY difficult to get this many in with my job, etc but I'm finding a way. Hopefully one…
  • some people, including myself, prefer to have snacks. Water is a ridiculous suggestion.
  • I love the Gold's Gym kickboxing for the WII. Its a great workout and there are a variety of levels available.
  • In one breath you said all exercise burns fat, then you suggested that HIIT will help with burning fat because it is burned at rest and HIIT raises your RMR. You are contradicting yourself.. Yes HIIT helps with fat burning.

  • Because she doesn't know what to pick from. They have categories of different types of workouts that she can look out, try out, etc. There is a HUGE variety to choose from and they will say FAT BURNING on them, so its right in front of your face. Telling her to pick something she likes to do isn't helpful in my opinion.

  • what the heck are you talking about?? They have work out videos that you can just pick to add to your calendar, so all of the guessing is eliminated for you. I have absolutely no idea what to do for a cardio workout in my living room - this website helps me with that. They also have 8 week programs that you can follow. You…

  • I'm so tired of seeing such unhelpful responses to questions. People telling her to eat less are assuming that she isn't already doing that and that wasn't her question. Telling her to pick something she likes doesn't really help either. She is looking for some ideas on workouts. OP- check out fitnessblender.com they have…

  • I don't know how much I'd trust that article. Right off the bat I noticed it says 1 cup of grapes has 23g of sugar, but according to the USA, it only has 15g of sugar. http://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/foods/show/2287?fgcd=Fruits+and+Fruit+Juices&manu=&lfacet=&format=&count=&max=35&offset=&sort=&qlookup=grapes Also, the lists…
  • Um, I seriously hope nobody is actually going by the number of calories the eliptical says that you burned. My friend was doing that, until she got an HRM and realized it was WAY OVER.
  • fitnessblender.com has a ton of bodyweight only workouts. I just did one yesterday!
  • ok that's the one I've always been using - today I noticed it said "user submitted" so I was worried it wasn't correct. Thanks.

  • I have to ask for those of you eating 4 eggs a day, how many dozen eggs are you buying at once?? My husband has an egg a day and I usually have a couple per week, I buy one dozen at a time. I can't imagine having 6 dozen eggs in my fridge for the week. that's insane, plus they are usually so expensive!
  • what do you mean by "earned exercise calories?" your Fitbit tracks your steps and then gives you a total # of calories burned by the end of the day, which is your TDEE. This is based off what Fitbit calculates as your BMR. For example, by BMR is around 1500 calories, and so far today I've taken 4642 steps and burned 1154…
  • Join the club, this happens about every 3 months, we all complain about it for a week or two and then it is magically fixed.
  • the 2400 calories is how many calories you've burned for all of your activity all day. If it is "giving" you an extra 300 to 400 calories on the MFP side, then that means you've burned 300 or 400 calories more than MFP expected you to burn (based on the activity level you have set on MFP). If you continuously get such a…
  • I know this is old.. but.. I'm 36 so my Max HR is supposed to be 184. I wear an HRM when working out and it is almost always at least 180, sometimes 184 for most of the time. So am I really working out for 40 minutes at my max heart rate?? or is 184 really not my max? I'm not exactly in shape by any means. Only been…
  • I don't understand. You want to burn 1000 calories in exercise, above and beyond your regular daily burn? That's impossible for me, with a 45 minute pretty intense workout I'm lucky if I burn 350 calories.
  • I have the polar FT4 and I love it. I use it for all my workouts.. but.. I don't eat back exercise calories, so for me personally it doesn't really matter how accurate it is. I do FitnessBlender workouts and they always give a calorie range of what you should expect to burn, and I am ALWAYS in that range according to my…
  • forgot to mention, I currently still begin my day with a pretty big negative adjustment number, and then I start earning calories as I burn throughout the day (and sync). But starting off, MFP still expects me to burn more than Fitbit.
  • I'm 5'2, 36 y/o and 182 lbs. I've lost about 37 lbs so far (over the course of a few years). But I've only had my fitbit for about a year. I always had MFP set to sedentary and I wasn't losing weight as quickly as I thought I should. After getting the fitbit, I was also getting negative adjustments of at least 100 calories…
  • I am going on vacation in 3 weeks as well, will be staying at an all inclusive resort for 7 days. I have a Fitbit One and was planning on wearing it whenever possible. At least if I can see how many steps I've taken that day and how many calories I've burned, I will know if I'm on the right track at all. I know on "cheat…
