  • Agree: I bought my scale on Amazon. I can't remember the price or brand, but I love it! I always way underestimate my portions, so I consider my scale a necessity. The scoops from WW are handy too, although I generally just use measuring cups and spoons b/c I was too cheap to buy the WW scoops.
  • It is bothersome, especially since we all come here for support and encouragement toward our goals, whatever they may be. I think part of the problem is that some people are focused ONLY on weight and looking/being thinner--they don't necessarily think about it terms of overall health and fitness. Then of course there are…
  • I'm laughing because I went bra shopping just this week (which I hate, btw), and after 30 minutes of trying on a room full of bras I finally figured out what size I really am now! I was wearing a 38 DD and thought that it was either just stretched out and old, or maybe I had actually lost in my boobs. Turns out I lost…
  • For years my husband had the same problem with disorientation, dizziness, general "out of it-ness" that he described as brain fog. He was at the time experimenting with various diets, some of which made it worse. He had his neurotransmitters checked and his blood checked by our Chiropractor and made 2 significant changes:…
  • Hello from East Dallas, "M" Street area. Anyone in the area want a walking partner?!
  • ^^^^^LMAO at that last comment...
  • Oh, and instead of butter I put olive oil in the water while cooking.
  • I use the medium grain brown rice that needs to cook for close to 45 minutes. I like to use broth as well, or soup, and sometimes I'll chop or dice veggies like carrots, onions, celery, etc. I also crush garlic and put in sometimes. My husband likes peas in there, but I'm not big on them.
  • Hi Mary! I'll be you friend if you'd like! :flowerforyou: I started a few weeks ago and I love the site. I'd love to know more about this show you are producing! Good luck with it and welcome to MFP!
  • When I first started trying to lose weight a few years ago I did the 10K steps a day thing. It really made a difference! I've not used my pedometer since I started MFP, but I still try to park at the end of the lot, use the stairs instead of elevators or escalators, and any other little thing I can do to increase my steps…
  • Same here. I'm a bit older, but 5'3" (5'2.5") Started at 165ish pre MFP SW on MFP 150 CW 143 GW 130-135 (I think--still not sure since it's been so long since I've been that weight) Frame is small/med. Feel free to send friend request if interested!
  • This is also my question because I'm admittedly very sedentary. I get in what I can, when I can, which comes out to twice as much as I did before joining MFP, but I didn't even include exercise in my goals because it's so irregular. That's not going to change any time soon due to my schedule/life style, so I'm worried that…
  • Sorry for the late reply. I'm still getting used to how to use this site. My scale was buried in the garage, so I have retrieved it and now it's easier. Never fails though, I measure in grams and the database is in oz. or vice versa. lol...
  • I have to agree. Sex is an important part of a relationship and should be discussed and agreed upon just as any other part of the relationship (finances, responsibilities, etc.). I can tell you that in my very personal experience this doesn't get better on it's own. It doesn't just go away. We all have stress, and we all…
  • DON'T GIVE UP! Health issues can make it such a struggle, but be patient with yourself/your body. This is obviously important to you judging from the effort you've put in already and the effort you continue to put in every day. You're worth the effort and you will get there! Just remember, if your body could talk to you it…
  • I am not actually vegan or even vegetarian, but I eat vegan or ovo-lacto vegetarian at least once a week. Sometimes that's raw, other times it's not. I actually had raw zucchini linguine with red chili tahini sauce for dinner tonight. We juice at home also. We have the Champion juice extractor for just juice, then I use…
  • That is so wonderful! You look fabulous! Congratulations on all your dedication and hard work!
  • I have exactly this same experience. I am shocked to see myself in photos! It happens with clothes, too. I really think I can wear some things because they look like they'll fit, but I put them on and it becomes obvious that I'm not there yet. I don't know why that happens. It is very weird, but it's good to know I'm not…
  • Bring in a raw veggie tray (or some tofu, or some other healthy food that she most likely wouldn't eat on a bet) and tell her to have a piece. When she says no just say "Aw come on! One piece isn't gonna kill ya! Your heat might actually thank you!" ... But in all seriousness, it is frustrating when people sabotage,…
  • Check out this site. It has one with cottage cheese: http://www.mybodybuildingcoupons.com/homemade-protein-shakes-without-protein-powder/
  • WHOA! That's awesome!
  • I was going to say that not only do you look great, but you look so much happier and so much more confident now! Congratulations!
  • Thanks, Mark! I appreciate it! Wishing you the best as well!
  • Congratulations for doing something just for you! It's a real struggle when you have no support at home, but you will have all the support you wish to accept right here! I wish you all the best!
  • Hi Tina! Welcome! I've never done Nutracheck, but I've done WW online and this is very similar. Love that it's free! Good luck to you!
  • I LOVE it! I'm so adding this book to my collection. Thanks!
