  • If I understand the question, you need to know how many grams are in one serving size of (in this case) romaine lettuce. When you found the nutrition information on line, did it give you ounces per serving? If so, just convert ounces to grams.
  • Wow! That's a great goal! I haven't done it myself, but one of my friends has done it a couple of times and really likes it. I think the route may be a little different this time, I'm not sure. Good luck!
  • Congratulations! That's a great time! Way to go!:drinker:
  • Thanks! I've heard of Runtastic. Is the "Pro" a different version? Do you know if you can set a goal pace in advance?
  • Thanks! I'm not familiar with Runmeter. Does it allow you to set the goal pace in advance?
  • Thanks for the info. I've heard of that app, but I'm not familiar with it. Will RunKeeper let you set a goal pace in advance?
  • That sounds awesome! I need to try that recipe. I use the same dressing recipe in my Southwest Quinoa Salad, but I use lime instead of lemon. To the quinoa and cilantro I add a tub of mixed baby greens, grilled corn cut off the cob, cherry or grape tomatoes cut in half, (black beans for vegetarian style or chicken), and…
  • Girl, you look fantastic! Not just the weightloss, but you look so healthy and happy! Congratulations!
  • Great info!! I have had the same question about distance vs. speed and I've noticed my speed has decreased as I've been running longer distances. This was very helpful! Thanks!
  • Thanks. That's always an option, but I prefer to get first hand knowledge from people who've actually been there when I can. None of the reviews online address the GF items, so I guess we'll just figure it out when we get there--or I'll be cooking in the hotel room! ;)
  • I did not get rashes, but when I used to use Sucralose I was having muscular issues. I can't really describe what it felt like (pains sort of, fatigue, aches), but when I told my doctor that I had switched to Sucralose she told me to get off it. I did, and the pains went away and have never come back. I'm now off ALL…
  • Races are good motivators, but it's okay to do it just because you love it. There doesn't really have to be a "reason" to keep going, beyond "I like it and I want to keep doing it." Sometimes I think we look for something external to justify doing something because it just doesn't seem to be enough to do it for the sake of…
  • I agree. I don't know if I've ever made the same smoothie twice. I also use it for more than smoothies. We make the frozen yogurt, the "frappuccinos," and the soups. We bought ours from eBay (reconditioned) over 5 years ago and love it. I don't even know what model it is. We've made most of the recipes in the cookbook that…
  • That sounds awesome! I will definitely try these! THanks!
  • Say it ain't so!!!!!
  • IMO this is very good advice. Breastfeeding does make a difference, and it's true that you lose more/faster in the beginning. It is a little scary sometimes when the weight is moving faster than expected, and frustrating when it's not moving as fast as expected. It's always good at those points to go back and re-evaluate…
  • My ex-mother-in-law used to do that. When she was diagnosed with diabetes she switched to Sweet-n-low instead of sugar. ...
  • I'm an old lady compared to you, but I have my goal set to 1700 currently and am on maintenance (which is harder than losing as it turns out!). Some days I go over calories and some days I'm under, but I'm generally a big eater. I log every day and my diary is open. Feel free to check it out and add me if you'd like!…
  • I'm wondering if the reason your body wasn't "coping" well had something to do with not eating enough calories. For your age your calorie goal seems low. If you're losing muscle then you may begin to feel flabbier, even though you're losing weight. You look to be fairly thin and it looks like you've lost quite a bit of…
  • I don't think I was really ready to commit to regular exercise when I first tried the program, and I was very out of shape and overweight. I think I gave up about the same place you did (4 weeks or so). It is a little boring, and her voice makes me want to hurt someone, but it is a good workout. I do it now when I can't…
  • You are good! That's a much more accurate way to log it, but I'm lazy. Well done and good luck with the rest of the program!
  • I don't do the program regularly, but when I do, I use my HRM to get a calorie count and then log it as cardio. If you don't have an HRM you can still log it as cardio by just logging your time and going with the MFP calorie burn. I usually knock a little off that because for me MFP usually overestimates. Good luck! Oh,…
  • Congratulations and I agree! I will confess that I gave up the first time I tried it, but I picked it up again (this time with the iPhone app) and I ran a 5K last month! I've walked them before, but this was my first time ever to run one. I never even liked running, and now I love it! I also talked my husband into using…
  • Well, you know I'm not in GA, but I just wanted to say that I'm glad MFP goes everywhere! You're a great friend and supporter. Good luck with the move. I know you will stay on track. It may take some time to get adjusted and settled, but I feel certain you'll have a routine pretty quickly! Don't forget, we're all still…
  • I wouldn't call it "ridiculous." Fat may not make the heart race, but MSG can make some people have heart palpitations or make the heart race. Can also cause headaches and other physical complaints, especially if one has a sensitivity to it. Same with other food allergies or sensitivities. Many common seasonings ("natural…
  • 1/2 cup of anything has less calories than 4 cups of the same thing. Portions do matter. Yes, you can eat larger portions or smaller portions, as long as all the calories add up to your goal, but portions do matter.
  • 1. Many, many times. 2. ... Some were scary, some terrifying, some heartbreaking, some exciting...all of them difficult. 3. Like srp, I don't necessarily believe in right or wrong choices, just choices, each one taking us in a certain direction. Some choices I made too spontaneously, without adequate forethought, choosing…
  • I may not be answering your question, but looking at what you "really want" to eat, I don't see any reason why you can't. I eat all those things, just not in massive quantities. I have mashed potatoes with real butter at least once every two weeks, I eat steak once a week, I just had pasta with a white sauce and cheese…
  • FANTASTIC!!! Congrats! :drinker:
