If you weren't working out much before then you are certainly building muscle, which will add weight. The good news is that the more muscle you have, the more calories you will burn. Don't be disheartened. You'll see the results on the scale soon enough.

The bit about the sugar is wrong, at least as far as I know. I have not found whole or skim milk to have differing amounts of carbohydrates. The bit about adding the fat back in to 1 and 2% milks is true though, and it's not good for you. Whole milk is best, skim milk takes second place. Take your pick.

You're best with whole milk, otherwise with skim. If you drink anything in between (1 or 2%) it's actually unhealthy because of the process of creating the various fat contents. 1 and 2 % milks are simply skim milk to which they've added back in a portion of the fat that was removed and which is now damaged because of the…
