  • Cleveland area here, feel free to add me!
  • My 4th of july meal was 2400 calories. :D I did not sweat it. I enjoyed my day.
  • Try spreading avocado on your next sandwich instead of mayo. If you mash it then spread it, it gives the same feel and the taste is 10X better than mayo IMHO.
  • I always get the Steak Wrap at Winking Lizard, its 350 calories and has 18g of protein,
  • Did you read the article or just dismiss it. Where are your sources for all the crap you have claimed.
  • Not true at all: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/core_march_8.htm
  • All I will say about the low calorie thing is that when I was eating low calories, I was dizzy, zero energy, couldn't compete a workout. Since I bumped my calories to 2500 a day, I am still losing weight, I have added 100lbs to my squat, 110 to my dead lift, etc. I have tons of energy, my concentration has improved, and I…
  • So if BMR is a myth, you are saying that there isn't some number of calories that your body burns at rest? What is your source that it is a myth?
  • I've never had grapes, but I know not to put apples in a smoothie....YUCK
  • I have stopped logging each exercise. I go based on an estimated TDEE for my goal weight/activity level. Thats what I eat every single day. Its a natural built in estimate. I will begin to drop 100-200 calories from it as I reach my goal weight. I still log exercise, I just put 1 calorie.
  • My girlfriend, Ashley (in pic) and I are working together as well. She got me hooked on MFP. We are both WAY skinnier now than in that pic!
  • Without knowing anything else about you...did you just simply try and find out what calories you need, take a deficit, and then track them? If so, did you stick with it for longer than a week?
  • Heavy lifting is what you are looking for: http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2011/07/21/meet-staci-your-new-powerlifting-super-hero/
  • Ideal protien diet: Breakfast: Chicken, Sweet Potato, Broccoli Snack 1: Chicken, Sweet Potato, Broccoli Lunch: Chicken, Sweet Potato, Broccoli Snack 2: Chicken, Sweet Potato, Broccoli Dinner: Chicken, Sweet Potato, Broccoli There I just saved you $400 a month in food. Enjoy
  • One of the main success tips for diets is to eat so that you are NOT hungry. Once you are hungry you tend to OVER eat because the response that you are full can take 15-20 minutes. By that point you have over eaten each meal by 100-200 calories or more. Eat to NOT get hungry, but stay within your goal.
  • THIS! I always joke with my girlfriend: "OMG!!! I AM 36 CALORIES OVER MY MFP GOAL!!! WHAT DO I DO????" I routinely run -100 to +150 calories and I am still losing weight and still looking better everyday. :D My philosophy is that if I am within 200 calories either way I am good.
  • Is there a possibility that something other than just a sweet tooth is going on again in your life that caused this behavior to pop up?
  • Obviously eating 1000-1200 calories a day ISN'T working for her. Here's what I don't understand, if you could eat 50% more food AND still lose weight and be even healthier, why on earth wouldn't you want to?
  • I don't stress out at all. I log what eat, watch my macros and make adjustments as I go. I started doing this even before I ate "healthy". When I started seeing how many calories were in things, it naturally led me to making better choices. If its becoming an obsession, then maybe you should take a break.
  • Stronglifts 5x5, do not isolate your muscle groups. Work them together. That's how they operate in real life.
  • You need to eat dirty now and then. Enjoy your life.I just wrote a thread on this. Look at calories as your ally to help you meet a goal, you will find yourself naturally making healthier choices, but at the same time won't beat yourself up over enjoying "dirty" food:…
  • If used properly, Calories are not your enemy.
  • How much weight do you have to lose? Would you follow my guide? http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/586298-if-you-are-scared-to-increase-calories
  • Me too, love. Thank you so much for changing my life, a second time :D
  • You can start here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/586298-if-you-are-scared-to-increase-calories Then you need to pick a goal. Mine is squat 200 lbs in 12 weeks. I am getting ready to hit the 130 mark on Friday and I am well on my way to reaching my goal.
  • 2500 If you eat low calorie long enough you won't be hungry, that doesn't mean its ok.
  • You increased your calories from 1000 to 1500. Your weight gain is your bodies way of thanking you for feeding it again. This will continue for 3-6 weeks as you slowly repair the damage to your body from such a low calorie diet. Just to clarify: -MUSCLE DOES NOT WEIGH MORE THAN FAT. -YOU CANNOT ADD MUSCLE MASS IN A CALORIE…
  • So you have been doing this for roughly 26 weeks, and you have lost 17-20lbs. What's wrong with that? However this is what bothers me: "I then tried eating more (for a month - 1600-1800) and gained 1lb every week, after the month I stopped and went back down to 1400," So you increased your calories by 400 a day. According…
