  • Are you talking about bulk or strength? Bulk only comes in a calorie surplus, strength will depend on how heavy you are lifing.
  • I think you hit the nail on the head. What is your height, weight, and current calorie intake? 6 days a week is a MAD amount of exercise, what does your exercise routine look like?
  • 1200 Calories isn't near enough for you and your work out. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/586298-if-you-are-scared-to-increase-calories
  • High intensity cardio teaches your body to do more with less. While this may sound ideal, its not really. If you do only cardio and do not develop strong, lean muscle to go with it, that 350 calorie burning run will turn into 250, then 150. etc. You will still be eating the same calories, yet burning LESS. Building lean…
  • Why on earth are you cutting out carbs? Do you know what your macro nutrient ratios are?
  • If only there was a thread about this somewhere :) http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/586298-if-you-are-scared-to-increase-calories
  • Dietary cholesterol does not affect blood cholesterol...
  • Rest, walking, and stretching
  • My favorite is Muscle Milk and either almonds or raw cashews.
  • Stand front facing in a mirror. Find the widest point between your waist and your thighs. That is your hips. For men this USUALLY at their hip bones. Measure LEVEL all the way around.
  • Since eggs are 70 calories a piece I guess if you ate 40 a day, depending on your TDEE, that might not be good for you....
  • I started out at MFP recommendations of 1800 per day. I was hungry and weak. I couldn't finish my workouts. I lost 6 lbs in two weeks then NOTHING for the next 4. Then I discovered the group eat more weigh less. I upped my calories to 2500 based on the calculations. I am now stronger, I exercise harder, I have bounds of…
  • I am LOSING at 2550 a day. 5'10 206lb 24.1% body fat (and dropping like a stone :D)
  • If you have a MEDICAL condition that affects your metabolism, why on earth would you listen to anyone BUT a professional? That's like me saying that pushups aren't working for me because I am a double amputee. I have said this before and I will say it again: IF YOU HAVE A MEDICAL CONDITION PLEASE SEEK THE ADVICE OF A…
  • I can see this. When I started I had all kinds of tummy troubles (gas and other things), now that I have been doing this for almost 60days now it has gotten A LOT better.
  • Personally, I don't care why you are doing it, or whether or not you follow my advice. I am only telling you that you are destroying your body, but...its yours. So have at it.
  • Get rid of as much processed stuff as you can. Try to limit it to 20% of your caloric intake. I see a lot of fried stuff...thats a lot of calories and not a lot of food (Again ok once in a while!). Maybe you can research some baked methods.
  • I would suggest weights 3 days a week, and if you really enjoy running make that 2 days a week. You need some rest too. Rest and diet are the two most important parts of losing weight. You can do weights at home. I have become a BIG heavy lifting advocate, but I started out doing P90 Scupt and that worked well. The idea is…
  • I think you need to increase your calories, walk 5 days a week, and start some resistance training. Get rid off 100cal packs of anything. None of them are good for you. Read my thread here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/586298-if-you-are-scared-to-increase-calories
  • Sorry to be blunt back,. but: you will STALL. I will personally guarantee it. You will start having less and less energy to work out, if you go out for a speghetti dinner you will gain 5 lbs the next day. If you keep at this low of a caloric intake, soon your hair and your nails will start to weaken. We have all seen the…
  • You are not going to believe this but I think you need to boost your calories. You aren't hungry on 1200 calories a day?
  • How many calories a day are you eating?
  • Another 1200 calorie dieter stalls...coincidence? I think not. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/586298-if-you-are-scared-to-increase-calories
  • You are doing 90 minutes of CARDIO a week and you don't want to eat more than 1500 calories A DAY??? You are killing your metabolism, you are over training, and you will not lose anymore weight. Secondly you mention that you have tried EVERYTHING. How long have you tried everything? Please read my thread here:…
  • Tacos are on the menu tonight, except that we are using Chicken, Cheese, Pico, avacado and Greek yogurt. YUM. Ragu is disgusting no matter what you put it in.
  • Great. This makes a lot sense :) Thank you!
  • If your BMR is 1480, your TDEE is 1776 (at a sedentary lifestyle). I would set your goal to be (225g) .5lb a week, so you want a 250 calorie a day deficit. So you want to eat 1526 a day,. You MAY gain the first 2-4 weeks. PUT AWAY THE SCALE. Weigh yourself after 30 days. If you have gained MORE Than 3-4 lbs. Back off the…
  • That's because you are burning fat and muscle...be careful. Read this: http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat-loss/how-we-get-fat.html
  • If you want to read a good Dr. OZ book (before he became a sell-out) read "You on a Diet". Its actually chock full of good information. I would say that it seems like he has become a peddler more than a Doctor.

  • Yes. If you don't work out for an extended period of time drop down a level. ( i.e Moderate->Light), Even if you get a a walk in 3days a week that would be better than nothing.
