Big smoke, even! haha!

I live in East London and work in the city centre. I drove my vespa through London into work this morning and there is an amazing feeling in the air... you can almost touch the expectation and excitement in the air... really amazing times to be in the bug smoke! :0)

Sorry guys, but why would you need food to record someone's metabolic rate? Isn't that the process where they stick a tube on your mouth and make you breath through your mouth for ages... at least that is how they used to do it. I think hospitals have more advanced (and less gag inducing) methods now?

I used to love the nike+ app on my iphone (no added extras, just the app), but then read about Endomondo and I really like it. It is very similar to Nike+, it talks to me too which I love! and it records elevation on top of that. At the moment I use Endomondo rather than nike+ mainly because it has different exercises, so…

I have got a routine of walking 6 days a week and I have really noticed a difference in how I feel. The first week I would take a pain killer an hour before my walk to help with it. My hips hurt, my ankle hurt and my knees hurt. It is hard to tell you when it stopped, as you know once something stops hurting you forget all…

I totally agree with you. But there is so many people here talking about protein shakes that I was thinking ... hmmm maybe I really need those! Go figure!

Oh I am sorry! I didn't realise you could only watch it in UK... I think sometimes you can also catch these programs in youtube but it does not seem to be available there yet. They had a long section on sports shoes, they talked about how some say that you need structure and some say that you need to feel a more bare…

Ahh! I had that happened before, I did a walk which is normally 400 calories and it showed half. I later realised that the watched can lose connectivity, like the belt can sit in the wrong place. What I did was check the rate of the work out, the time I did it for and my stats on several websites and it was clear that the…

Bought this one from Tesco online for £19 and it does the job fine. Including calorie counting which is the reason I wanted it really :-) http://www.tesco.com/direct/one-body-heart-rate-monitor/203-3529.prd The instructions were in tinny letters so I used my photocopier at work to blow them up and voila! Perfect :-)

I think that if someone is struggling with reaching 1200 it is not about what foods to eat but more to do with how one realtes to food itself. What I mean by this is that the problem can be more emotional and less about the practicalities of counting calories.... we all know high content calories, they are everywhere even…

Hi there I did put on a couple of kilos in here too a few weeks ago. I have now lost them and a little more. I cannot tell you what is happening for you, but I can tell you what I did and seems like it has helped so far: I tried to stay aware that weigh can go up and down naturally specially being a woman in my 40s…

Hi there Feel free to add me :-) Sara, I do not know you but you do seem very overwhelmed... have you got other support?

An expectation is a resentment waiting to happen

Amen to you both!

For the record I lost over 90 pounds on my 20's by eating 3 balanced meals a day and abstaining from sugar and refined carbs. Would you not call that clean eating? No while flower, no white rice, no snaking, no sweeteners - deffinately no junk food what so ever! I kept off sugar and refine carbs for 16 years. I was…

I am 42, finding it very slow to loose weight and was wondering if it is because of my age. I have always been the one who could loose weight faster than anyone else, so this is a real bummer!
-
I would say 4mph is pretty fast for an adult and not feasible for a child for any amount of time really, but I am no expert! I have never done more than 10 miles in one day sorry

Egg whites in any shape or form... try chopping them into litte cubes and adding them to a salad... yum!

I quit in January after 25 years of smoking 20 a day. I have put some weight on because I have been eating more, and more bad stuff really. But I am losing the weight now too. The good news is I have everything I need to deal with the weight, and exercising is soooo much easier now! I say go for it!! It really is worth it…

As a therapist myself I can tell you that you will find people in the profession with all different takes on the concept of addiction, some really don't subscribe to it at all while some are totally into it. Not just addiction to food, but to work, sex, drugs or even alcohol. Additionally, unless your therapist has…
