Stalls are definitely frustrating, but it does help to know that they are expected. :) Just keep doing what you've been doing, assuming that you are following your doctor's guidelines! Also, try to only weigh yourself once a week. I know that's hard to follow sometimes, but it makes it easier to get through the stalls -…

We have a West Highland White terrier (Abby, 11 yrs), a standard Schnauzer (Dexter, 13 yrs), and a Shih tzu/Bichon (Oscar, almost 6). And we have a grey DSH cat (Sophie, 7 yrs). :)

My reason is to get healthy. Sure, looking better is a good bonus.

Leather pants with a fitted leather motorcycle jacket. :) I felt pretty good on our recent trip to Puerto Rico wearing shorts and capris. While I'm not a tiny size, I rocked what I wore. Edited to add: And I lost 3.4 lbs this past week... while on vacation in PR. Go me!!

Okay, the one thing I wish I had known for after surgery? Baby food is NOT an option. Yuck, that stuff is NASTY. (And we give this to babies?!) I had thought that it would be a good way to get a little variety in during the soft food stage, but nooooooo.... ick. I agree on the not stockpiling protein drinks/powder. I did…

What a great story! :)

Check out etsy.com. I'm guessing that you can have one custom made easily. We did a team building exercise last year where I cut out the word "BAZINGA!" on heat transfer vinyl with my Silhouette machine that can be colored with markers and then ironed onto a t-shirt. Edited to add: Just search for "custom t-shirt". I just…

Maybe you could compromise with your boyfriend on when the trip will occur? :) We're going to Puerto Rico on Mar. 1. While I am not at my goal weight, I'm going to rock the weight loss I've done so far. (And I'm excited to use the gym at the resort we'll be at.)

One thing I didn't see mentioned is that you don't have to exercise all at once. Instead of exercising a full 30 minutes, try breaking this up into three 10 minute segments. It doesn't seem quite as daunting if you look at it that way.

I really like this video. I learned quite quickly to be barefoot on our carpet. Socks are just too slippery. And one of our three dogs thought I was doing all of this to play with him. I guess he was helping me with my balance? :) I like that this isn't SUPER hard, but I can definitely feel it.

Another thought, check Craigslist to see if anyone in your area is advertising for someone to take over their Anytime Fitness membership (if that's the gym you are leaning towards). I just did this on Friday and my membership is only $33 a month. A co-worker just signed up as a new member and he's paying $39 a month. The…

At least I am not the only one! My knees also hurt on the elliptical. I'm envious of anyone who is able to use them, as they are touted to be so low impact. I do have some issues with my knees though - basically bone-on-bone action going on.

My stamina.... for shopping!! :)

Ha! The "parachute panties" reminded me of this summer when I was at home (thank goodness). I was wearing shorts and underwear that were too big for me. When I bent over to give the dog his food dish, both the shorts and underwear hit the floor!! Oopsie!! :-O

Some of the unflavored protein powders will curdle when heated. The Nature's Best Isopure unflavored protein powder can be added to hot things. And just remember that unflavored doesn't mean flavorless, just that a specific flavored hasn't been added. (So you can't add it to water and expect it to taste like water.) :)

I agree with what the others have said, make sure you find out your insurance company's requirements. If you don't qualify under their requirements, make sure to check around on how much you will have to pay out-of-pocket. Some folks have gone to Mexico and paid way less.

OH... and one of the important things is that I switched to Dial antibacterial body wash. It's antibacterial and seems to keep the ketosis body stench at bay. :)

I agree with the others on finding a protein powder that you like. Pre-surgery, I REALLY liked the Bariatric Advantage shakes. Post-surgery, nope. My favorite shakes are by Syntrax Nectar: Chocolate Truffle, Cappuccino, Strawberry Mousse, and Vanilla Torte. (Cookies & Cream is okay, but the teensy cookie pieces just settle…

Congrats on your recent surgery! :) Don't be discouraged should your weight loss stall, even though you are following all of your doctor's guidelines. At week 3, my three week stall started. BUT... I was prepared for this since a lot of people seem to have stalls every so often. Just keep doing what you are supposed to do…

Syntrax Nectar has good protein shake powder - mixed with 8 ounces of skim milk you'd get 29 grams of protein for only 160 calories. I like their Chocolate Truffle, Cappuccino, and Strawberry Mousse shake flavors. Additionally, Nature's Best Isopure unflavored can be added to other foods, hot or cold. (As a side note,…

I have this scale and REALLY like it: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004L6NTHU/ref=wms_ohs_product I tried the FitBit Aria scale but it was giving me inconsistent results. The EatSmart scale is very consistent.
