I forgot to add that if I don't indulge in a craving... it is all I can think of. Kind of like if you tell yourself NOT to think of pink elephants... it seems like you can't NOT think about them. (Double negative -- you'll think of them.) :)

I indulge. Chocolate? I don't REALLY like a lot of dark chocolate, so I have a bag of the Dove dark chocolate in the freezer. I can take out ONE and let it melt in my mouth. Cookies? Nope, I can not have them in the house. I can buy ONE though and it satisfies me. Pizza? I can eat one slice and be done. Ice cream? I can…

One of the first things I did was to use a permanent marker to mark the 8 oz fill line. Much easier than always measuring my light soy milk. :) I also pre-filled little snack bags with the berries so I don't have to measure that out each morning. I also pre-slice my bananas and freeze those. I either add the frozen banana…

I also log my exercise on MFP. I like the satisfaction of seeing a record of exactly what I've done. You don't HAVE to log your exercise though. If you do log your exercise on MFP, you may see a negative adjustment from FitBit on your MFP exercise page. Basically MFP overestimates calories burned and MFP makes an…

1. I love exercising. I walk 30 minutes a day at work. (15 minutes in the a.m and 15 in the p.m.) Plus I do an exercise DVD in the morning before work and another after work. 2. My knees don't ache. (Side note, I twisted my knee the week before last going up three steps. I had an x-ray done and they found significant…

I only told my best friend, my in-laws and my parents. My best friend had a gastric bypass almost 4 years ago. She lost 90 pounds and has gained back about 40. My in-laws were totally thrilled and supportive. My mom was the only one who said anything negative about the surgery. My dad told her to knock it off - "She's…

I remember two brothers when I was growing up (one was a friend in my grade and the other a year older). They were both VERY underweight through all of high school so that they could stay in whatever absurd weight category they were in. (They wouldn't eat anything for a day or two before the weigh-in, and then eat…

My only suggestion would be to maybe talk with your WW leader. Those weekly Points are there for you to use. It's basically figured into the plan that you will be eating those too. You can also use the Points that you earn from exercise to be able to eat a little more. While it doesn't sound like it would work, eating more…

I have a protein shake every morning... 1 scoop of Syntrax Nectar Chocolate Truffle, 1/2 scoop of Big Train Fit Frappe Mocha protein powder, 8 ounces light soy milk, 5 ice cubes, 1 teaspoon stevia, 1 Tablespoon sugar free chocolate fudge pudding mix. 265 calories and 40 grams of protein. I've added spinach leaves and can't…

Ear Pops are nice to wear. They only cover your ears without a head band or anything. I wear these when the temps are starting to drop before winter sets in. I get ear aches from cold wind blowing around my ears. Once the temps get down into the 20s, I need to switch to the 180s behind the head earmuffs.

Have you asked at the grocery store if they have any nutritional information for their deli offerings? Is this something that they are selling as "healthy"?

Today - 1) That I have a decent salaried job that allowed me to spend two hours at the walk-in clinic (with a diagnosis of significant osteoarthritis in my left knee and major swelling) 2) My health insurance has a $100 deductible that I probably hit with my x-ray pics today. (Yippee! Well, not that I have a bill coming…

I can definitely say that NOW my weight loss is to look good. :) Actually, I think I look GREAT wearing clothes. The hubs thinks I look great naked. Me, not so much. Although even at 45, my loose skin seems to be tightening up, but I'll never get rid of it all. Oh well. For the most part, my only health problems when I was…

I have both the Body Media and a FitBit Flex. Both track calories/steps with about the same numbers. Neither of them accurately track calories burned while on an exercise bike, although you can at least wear the Body Media on your ankle while biking. I switched to just using the FitBit Flex when my six month subscription…

Well... when it's "that time" for me, I am usually curled up in the fetal position in bed - taking hydrocodone and flexiril. :( I don't even think about weighing myself. I'm ready for the lady parts to get yanked out. I'm kind of scared because supposedly it's due to show up early next week and I'll be on a business trip.…

My chiropractor told me that I looked really good for losing as much weight as I have. He said that most people look like they've aged 10+ years, but that I looked like I went the other direction and looked younger. :) (Then again, do you think he'd REALLY have told me that I looked like I had aged?) LOL

When I am walking on my breaks at work (15 minutes at 10 and then again at 2:30), I listen to audiobooks on my phone. I like the Yurbuds with microphone as they still let you hear ambient sounds but that you can hear your music/audiobook just fine. I need to hear the surrounding noises so no one accidentally scares the…

My hubs didn't pay me, but he also didn't complain every time I did a wardrobe overhaul. :) (Then again, I mostly shopped at thrift and consignment shops.) AND... he gave a $150 gift card for Christmas to my favorite second hand store - Clothes Mentor. Since we do have a shared checking account, I paid for it too. HOWEVER,…

I love HHA!! :)

No undies when on the Harley... :) (I know, I know... I am busting my bicycle out of the garage once spring hits, well the Harley too.)

I REALLY like Shaun T's Hip Hop Abs DVDs. I have the alpha and beta of T25 but I am holding off on that right now as I have some traveling for work coming up. Although I guess since I plan on bringing HHA to do in my hotel room, I could just as easily bring T25, except for having a mat. HHA is a good way to introduce…

Have you ever tried the sugar free fudgsicles? Only 40 calories and it totally takes care of my ice cream and chocolate cravings.

One suggestion I have is to maybe see a nutritionist to help you figure out what filling foods you should be eating. Most insurance plans will cover this (although I don't know if yours requires you to get a doctor's referral). I know there is a lot of information out there online or in books, but it might be better to…

Sugar-free hot cocoa sometimes works or one marshmallow. That said, I really like some of the Quest protein bars. Their chocolate brownie nails the sweet tooth plus I'm getting 20 grams of protein.

Meals still take me awhile. I only eat about a cup of food at a sitting. My husband can eat two or three cups worth of food and he's done way before I'm even halfway into mine. It's good to eat slow because it gives you a chance to realize that you are "done" eating. I get the hiccups when I'm done. :) I only eat until I'm…

I "second" the second hand shops. :) You could walk out with three bags or more of NICE clothes for $40-$60. Heck, I just bought a nice pair of Calvin Klein jeans for $5.99 (regular retail $70).

One thing that I've found is that if my Flex didn't count my steps right (or at ALL) on the treadmill, I just add the distance/intensity at the Fitbit site as an activity. Fitbit will send the steps it figures out to my Flex. (And then I don't log that exercise on MFP.)

I love my Fitbit Flex. :)

Me too. :)
