I get my 5 servings 95% of the time. At least 3 servings are in my smoothie every morning, I usually have an apple for a midday snack, and I generally have salad w/ my dinner.

Hell no. Just, hell no. Your gut is obviously telling you that something is a little "off" with that situation, so no. And, wow, it really grates on me when parents refer to their children as "the kid" or "my kid" or the like.

I'm in for new ideas too.

Amen!

Old Navy online. I'm super duper tall, so have to buy everything online anyway, but if you sign up for Old Navy's emails they send 20-30% off codes all the time.

YES! We women need muscles too!!! The more muscle you have, the more calories you'll burn while resting, so it's a win-win! I work out in my home, and are drawn to DVD programs. The 1st program I ever did when I joined MFP was 30 Day Shred, by Jillian Michaels. It's circuit training, which would mean you'd still get a…

I would never have started smoking. (I quit a long time ago, but still have a few if I'm drinking.)

I have this one too and love it!

There is no "bad" food. Eat it ALL, as a friend always says. Exercise off those extra calories, and make healthy choices a habit so you can treat yourself occasionally.

1. How long have you used mfp for? Since March 2012. 2. How has your logging habits changed over time? They haven't really changed. When I first started I weighed all my food, and I no longer feel it's necessary to do that. 3. Have you ever reached goal and if so at what point? I'm still not at my goal weight, but I'm…

Very creative! Great job on the lost inches too!

Agreed. ^^^ I bought a Polar HRM a month ago and found it to be pretty similar to what MFP was giving me for cals burned. Quite a few things MFP actually didn't give me enough. But, I do tend to push myself harder now that I can watch my heart rate and my cal burn numbers as I'm working out.

I bought the Polar FT4 about a month ago and love it. It's a pink watch and came w/the chest strap and the HRM snaps onto the chest strap. I bought it on Amazon for $69. It's perfect for what I want it for, which is knowing what my correct calorie burn is and being able to keep track of my heart rate (keep it in "my zone").

Thank you for sharing that! I did my first mudrun last fall and am completely addicted! I'm headed to Boston in 4 weeks for Muckfest and hope to have some great pics like these to share. Well done!

That's a riot! Congrats to you!

I have three pet peeves (well, I'm sure I have more, but here are the 3 I'm thinking of now) and I'm in a bad mood, so here goes: 1. Hearing "Oh, you're lucky you're so thin!" No... I'm not lucky. It's not luck and it's not genetics. The ONLY reason I'm at a healthy weight now is because I work my *kitten* off every day…

Special K Chocolate Delight Cereal is my new go-to sweet snack.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this post. I feel exactly the same way! I'm in the best shape of my life right now, and re-learned to love jogging last summer. I'm relatively slow compared to friends I see post on MFP (10.5 was my average by the end of the summer), but I don't care either! I love the beautiful trails I run on and I love…

1st one - cute little heart above my right butt cheek - because a I thought it was sexy. 2nd one - breast cancer ribbon with chinese "hope" symbol overlayed - a family member was diagnosed and 6 cousins went together and got same tattoo. 3rd one - stargazers lilies with vines flowing from my left rib cage down tomy hip -…

I carry it. Literally... I carry it in my hand. I use the Runtastic app and I like to see my distance, pace, etc. Occasionally I'll stick in my arm band.... you said yours slips down - mine used to slip also so I bought a smaller size.
-
^^^ Agree - I just bought the same one and LOVE it! I like watching the calorie burn count rise, and it motivates me to push even harder.

I didn't read the 10 pages of responses, but my tip is PORTION CONTROL. When I first joined MFP, I bought a kitchen scale and began weighing my food and was amazed at how much I was overeating.

We plan to stay in and have a nice dinner at home tonight and watch a movie or two. Homemade chicken quesadillas (spelling???) with lots of veggies are on the menu. Nothing fancy. We got over a foot of snow last night here in central Maine, so lots of shoveling will burn off the chocolates I plan to enjoy today.

^^^ Me too! It's hilarious to me that people make up stupid names. It's a body part, just like an arm or a leg.

That's awesome after just 5 weeks! Way to go! Positive changes = positive results! Congrats!

That just pisses me off. She's gorgeous and looks fantastic!

I quit when I got pregnant. :-) Probably not the best choice for you, so my suggestion is to go cold turkey. Buy lots of gum and fidgets to keep your fingers busy. Everytime you want a smoke, pop in a fresh piece of gum or a lollipop. Keep your mouth busy. The 1st week will SUCK, but if you REALLY want it you can do it!…

Me too.

I was pushing a size 14 when I started, and am now in a comfortable size 10. I'd like to be in a size 8, as I know I can lose/tone more in my butt/hips/thigh region. I've only lost 10 lbs, but have lost more in inches.

If I want ice cream, I'll have a small bowl of ice cream. Brownies? Yum! Chips? Bring 'em on. I don't have "cheat" days. I eat what I want, and I don't think of myself as dieting. Eating healthy is really a way of life for me now (thank you MFP). I tend eat very healthy, and if I want something unhealthy I'll exercise hard…
