I don't have a muffin top anymore (yay!), but I am tall so here's my two cents: I'm 5'11" and 160lbs. I have a small chest and small waist and carry my extra weight in my butt. Measurements are 37", 30", and 40" around the fullest part of my hips. I wear a size 10 pants mostly, sometimes a 12 depending on the fabric and…

Have you tried just talking to them and explain and saying that you just need that one 1/2 hour per day? Or, perhaps if there is another convenient time? Boo for them for being such a pain in the butt about it.

Love my hubbies body hair! Wouldn't ever want him to shave or trim it. I think body hair is very masculine.

I leave tomorrow for Jamaica for 5 days. Yippee! My first vacation with my hubby since our honeymoon 12 years ago (first vacation w/out our kiddos, I mean). I've been doing MFP for about a year, and have been busting my butt even harder for 3 months to get in "bathing suit" shape for this trip. I plan to splurge and enjoy…

My sis in law and I both have the same issue if I go any longer than 30 minutes. I think it's because my feet are in the same position for such a long time. If I take a break the numbness/tingling goes away.

I love this!

This is a joke right? This is MY FITNESS PAL... A site dedicated to help people realistically lose weight while becoming healthier and more physically fit. I seriously hope no one is condoning this. If you're actually serious then shame on you. 1200 cals is as low as anyone should go. Period.
-
THIS! I have a sedentary job, which puts me at 1600 cals to lose .5 lbs a week. Say I work out for an hour and burn 500 cals... if I stick to my original goal of 1600 minus the 500 I've burned, 1100 overall cals is not enough for me. So, I eat more to make up the difference... if I'm hungry. But, I never ever go below…

Depends what I'm doing... if I'm doing yoga then it's fine. If I'm doing TurboJam or 30DS then I usually go in our bedroom and use our portable DVD player. I'd just rather not be sweating and panting and flailing around in front of him. He laughs at me. :-)
-
Me too, but feel free to add me. I feel a lot younger. haha :-)

I love Turbo Jam's Ab Jam. It's a really good all over ab workout. The 1st half is cardio standing abs and the 2nd half is floor work.
-
You should be SO proud of yourself for making the decision to change your life! I don't even know you, and I'm proud of you! Fantastic job! Good luck on the next 1.8!

I think it just depends on the scale. I purchased a Healthometer digital scale from Walmart last year. I've replaced the batteries in it once (and I weight myself every day) and it is extremely consistent. It doesn't have any bells/whistles - it's just weight. I've never had an issue with it.…

I have one bad knee also, but have had good luck w/ 30 Day Shred. I just have to modify on the squats/lunges. I didn't have a lot of weight to lose, but have been doing 30DS fairly consistently for about a month (mixed w/ TurboJam and my elliptical) and am seeing great results in muscle tone in upper and lower body.
-
Are you joking or serious? WTH shouldn't people eat bananas???
-
I have the Turbo Jam 5 DVD set (Chalene Johnson) and one of the workouts is "Ab Jam".... It's 10 minutes of standing abs then 10 minutes of floor abs. It's really good.

My daughter uses soup cans when she does it with me! :)

Let me add that I hate typical yoga with the breathing and all that. I, personally, think it's boring and it does nothing for me - it's just not my thing. However, the "BL-WLYoga" is not traditional yoga and Bob really keeps you motivated.
-
I use that same "BL - Weight Loss Yoga" DVD and love it. I can't say whether IT specifically has helped me lose weight because I do other workouts too (elliptical, turbo jam, 30 Day Shred), but I can definitely say it has improved my muscle tone. I'm usually sore after doing it. It makes me sweat and makes my muscles burn.…

Think of how many celebrities you know that are HOT and are 40+! Granted, we're just regular folks :-), but I intend to be as hot as I can be until I'm too old to do anything about it. Being hot isn't just in how you look... it's self-confidence and attitude too.

I use a "Bubba" 24 oz double walled tumbler that I got at Walmart for $15ish. I use it for my shakes in the morning, and then water the rest of the day. I've had it for about 6 months and it's still perfect. Love it! http://www.walmart.com/ip/Bubba-24-oz-Clear-Coffee-Mug/20469715

Level 1 just about killed me when I first started! I was able to finish but I modified a bit. 9 minutes is better than no minutes!!! :-) Be proud of what you did, and try to do another 9 minutes tomorrow. I'm now onto Level 2 and can easily see being on Level 3 in a couple weeks. You can do it!
-
Jillian is my fav! I'm doing the 30 day shred... friend me - I'm a great motivator!
-
I agree - the 30 day shred is my favorite workout period. And, you can't beat the workout you get for just 20 minutes.
-
I'm always looking for friends! Add me too!
-
I also have runners knee, but my elliptical doesn't bother it. Occasionally if I do a really hard level it will get sore and a little swollen, but overall it's the best cardio I've found for me.

I like "The Biggest Loser - Weight Loss Yoga" dvd... I'm not a big fan of regular yoga, but really enjoy this weight loss kind of yoga. It's a lot of holding harder poses to work your muscles, a lot of core work, and there's three different levels you can choose from.
-
I used to feel the exact same way about yoga (hated it...was bored...didn't feel like it was a workout), until a friend told me to try the "Biggest Loser, Weight Loss Yoga" DVD... Bob (from the Biggest Loser) is the instructor and I LOVE it. I break a sweat every time, and am usually sore the next day. It is nothing like…

Wow! 120-130 seems so low! I'm 5'11" and am currently 161 lbs and I only want to lose 6 more pounds. The only fat I have left to go is on my upper thighs/bum. You all must be super skinny! Just be careful that you're not getting too small. Stay healthy!

Personally, I find that if I work out after 7-ish that it takes me forever to fall asleep. But, it really depends on you. If it doesn't effect your sleep then go for it! Good luck!
