Susie, the Atlantic City Marathon is in October - the course is nice - part on the boardwalk, part on the street. Lots to see and it's nice and cool in October by the beach.

Thinking seriously today about training for my 1st marathon which will be the Atlantic City Marathon in October. They also do a half marathon. Just on the fence because I'm a regular runner of 3 to 6 miles a day, but I don't know if I make this my mission if I going to dread/hate running.

Yum thanks for sharing will definitely try this!

Topamax is a nightmare. It did make my headaches go away but one if the side effects is word loss-- drug made me a bumbling idiot. I lost a few pounds on it- Maybe like 6-7 lbs, so I weighed like 130, but ever since I've been off it, I've been having the hardest time losing the weight I gained back- which I gained 10…

Yes, I know it sounds like common sense, but please do not take your dog out in extreme temperatures. My neighbor decided to run with his dog which was an Alaskan Malamute type of dog in 83 degree heat at 3:00 in the afternoon -- I know dumb, esp because the dog had a full coat of hair -- well the dog passed out, he had to…

I like to go the distance - if it means running a tad slower, I like knowing I'm burning more cals. I can run at 7.0 for about 2 miles, but I like to stay around 6.3-6.5 when I'm running a 5 miler. And to add on to Scott's post, I like to bump up the incline instead of bumping up my speed - I always keep the hamster wheel…

I might have to disagree. I was under the impression the reason the elusive "they" say to do 30 minutes of cardio is because you have to stay around your target heart rate for at least 20 minutes before you start dipping into fat (plus, I don't even break a sweat for like 18 minutes!). Maybe thats ancient information, but…

I am in the exact same boat - same height as you - 5'2, 140lbs, 30 years old -- I run 3.5 miles 3 days a week and 4-5 miles a day 2 days a week. I do the whole 1200 calorie thing, sometimes I eat a little more if I run (like whatever extra cals I've burned), but I'm frustrated too. I lost 4 pounds, and now I'm back at 138…

Didn't see any weight loss difference (Diet Pepsi is calorie free, so I'm not sure if you would), but I did notice I do not have as many headaches! BTW, diet soda contains phosphoric acid, same ingredient as teeth whitener which causes sensitivity in teeth (and pitting) - both of which I have - and I used to drink about 2…

The Axelrod brand non-fat cottage cheese with pineapple is my jam - there's no added sugar but it does contain aspartame. It's all ready to go for you.

Wow that sounds ridic, gonna have to try that!! I was eating the Axelrod fat free pineapple cottage cheese blend but I love that idea with chocolate pudding. My snack arsenal: - 100 calorie bag Orville Redenbacker popcorn - 40 calorie no sugar added Fudgescicles - Skinny cow sandwiches (150 cals) - A serving of fat-free no…

Non-fat plain greek yogurt, but it's gotta be Fage brand because the other ones taste like sour cream. 18g of protein for 100 calories, 0 fat, and like 7-8 carbs. I eat it plain now, took some getting used to but because it's not like YUM, I eat it slow. I was eating it with a 1/2 cup of a frozen…
