All I can tell you is that you start out walking. So walking down a sidewalk or paved road shouldn't be embarrassing to you. And what the heck, at least you are doing something. What do you care what people think. You are going to feel SOOOO good about yourself once you get out there.

I'm on week 5 of Couch to 5k. I use the schedule that was adapted for a treadmill. I even find myself wanting to do my daily treadmill workout after I've spent an hour cutting grass.

Try the local YMCA or school where there is an enclosed track or a track behind the school and not so "out in public"

I'm finding it hard to use up my 1200 calories. I'm following the Couch to 5k exercise program and exercise everyday. I've also added a 30 minute brisk walk at work at lunchtime. I would definately start doing the Couch to 5k. There is also a version of it that someone converted for a treadmill. When I started, I probably could not have run for 30 seconds. I'm now in my 5th week and looking at running 8 minutes straight. If you can't run the whole 5k, don't force yourself into an injury.

I sometimes use the recipe builder for my whole dinner plate. For example, I had a chicken breast, med sweet potato and 2/3 cup of corn for dinner. I don't think I've ever been rude to a cashier unless they treated me poorly to begin with. HOWEVER, I have talked back to that canned voice at the self checkout - she is totally rude and pushy!! LOL

Just remember, you didn't get to where you are overnight. This is not a temporary thing. You have to make some lifestyle changes and stick to them. You CAN do this!!
