First, you are lucky, my dad has a vitamix and I wish I could steal it all the time! But I agree with the above comments, look up smoothie and soup recipes! You can also do some great protein/milk shakes; dips, salsa, you name it! The vitamix is so versatile and it's like the greatest blender, it will liquefy anything!

amazing job, you look so great!! Congrats!

Hi Violet456 thanks for the group info, I joined! I definitely need support through this. I have friends who are trying to lose weight, but they have no where close to the amount that I do, and it's really great to be able to converse with people who really understand how hard it can be.

Ha! OP, I understand though, I've gone out for many a late night snack in my time just because of the commercials! lol

I have the same thing going on this morning. I apparently (though not really realizing it) was bad yesterday and when I got on the scale I had gained 2 pounds! When it happens it feels like I start falling down into a hole with no way to climb out; but this morning I decided not to let it get me. I had way too much salt…

Sugar addiction is tough, some studies show it's tougher than drug habits because you can't avoid it, it's legal, it's everywhere, and in most cases it comes in very convenient packages. I know you said you have kids, and you don't want them to have to go without, but what I've found that works for me, is simply not having…

I understand the snowball that weight gain can become, it's hard, but as you stated above, you have a lot to live for and as someone who recently lost her mother early (she was 65, I'm 28) due to complications from conditions that were exasperated by her weight, I can tell you there's nothing more precious than your…

Oh boy are you gonna get some flack for this post buddy. Anyway, I understand where you are coming from; and I understand and accept that you do love your girlfriend, and you want her to live a long a healthy life with you. That said, weight loss is a very personal journey, and you can't force it on someone; it's like…

Here for you girl, I was off the site basically a year before I was kicked in the butt by some really harsh reality. I'm back, and 20lbs down! Add me :)

*raises hand* I've got well over 100 to lose

I totally, totally understand your fight with this...I actually posted on the motivation forum last week (you can probably still find it) a post called Dear Will Power. Losing weight isn't easy, but even if you take a step forward, and another step back, you are slowly still moving forward, and that's important to…

I find competition really helpful in terms of motivation. Even if it's just with yourself, set a challenge for 30 days and do all you can to stay on track...keep a journal about it, write a blog or get some friends involved, it'll be a good boost!

 Thanks so much guys.

I recently roasted some spagetti squash, pulled out the inners and mixed them with brocolli in a balsamic vinegar reduction and feta cheese, then put the filling back in the boats and baked again for another 10ish minutes, it was amazing! I wish I had a photo for you.

I don't hate him, he does what he does and he makes money, good for him. However, I don't like that he is always advertising or endorsing items for weight loss that never work, and are not scientifically proven to work, and are basically glorified vitamin pills...African Mango...Garcinia Cambogia....these things don't…

That's fantastic, congratulations on your achievement...and if anyone ever says "oh only 25lbs" you tell them to go pound sand, you're doing great. Slow and Steady! that's how you keep it off long term! congrats

fruit and veggie smoothies are a great breakfast alternative for me. If I don't have time for that I put granola and Greek yogurt in my bento box with a small portion each of baby carrots and seedless grapes....it's pretty much my breakfast and mid-morning snack!

my old primary care physician (I moved and had to change, *sad face*) always told me that there is no "magic pill" and that the only real way to lose weight, and keep it off, is to change your lifestyle and your mindset about health. There are pills that could probably help give you a boost, but in general any weight you…

Well welcome to MFP, we are happy to have you and way to go on taking this first ever so important step toward a better lifestyle. Using this site really does work, and you will see great results. Please add me, I have a lot to lose as well (currently hanging about 340lbs) so I feel your pain and am with you! Good Luck!…

Sure, I just keep it within my calorie limit for the day. However, I have learned that eating stuff that's good for you is far more satisfying than eating junk. Not that I don't love me some bagel bites once in a while, whole foods definetly give you more bang for your buck in terms of calories and macros.

You rang? Here for you, add me

Finally got my R2Ben2o! So excited, and really enjoyed lunch today, granola in the top tier, grapes in tier 2 and roasted spagetti squash leftovers in the bottom! YUM

I hear you on this, I work a 9 hour day with a hour long commute both ways, so by the time I'm home, I'm usually done for the day. It can pretty much take all I have just to get dinner going for us, however, these past few months I've started using the Walk at Home program. There are DVDs you can get to learn the moves,…

*hugs* just keep logging. Sounds like you are doing great, and your body will catch up. However, if you really feel you need a little boost, change up your diet. Cut carbs from your diet for a few weeks, or start your day with a green smoothie for a while. You will get over the hump! Good luck

I'm in. I'm not great at pushups, but I know I can do 5! I'll add it in to my at home workout :)
