Many times net carbs are used. This is when the fiber is subtracted from the carbs for the carb calculation. You can do it either way, but your carb level probably needs to be a bit higher if you are using total carbs than if you are using net carbs.

We can do bad things without being bad ourselves. When we eat bad things, we are not bad, just off track.

I would say that you are an overcomer! What a great accomplishment! I have noticed that my tastes have changed too, and I am very pleased. I am sorry that something that you used to enjoy is no longer enjoyable, but on the other had, I am glad that something that something that is not good for you is no longer enjoyable.…

You can get low fat muscle milk at Costco that has 20g of protein and only 5g of carb, or Premier Protein liquid with 30g of protein and 4g of carb. If it is too much protein for one meal, I drink only half of a container. It comes in vanilla or chocolate and I think it tastes alright. They are both quite nutritionally…

I wish I could say that I have stuck to the plan 100%, but I have not. When I do not, the cravings come back big time, and then I get to start over. Salad dressing is a big one I have found. Have to be really careful with it. Costco is another place that I get into trouble. Just one little taste. But tomorrow is another…

I'm new to this site, and I'm struggling too. Yesterday it was three slices of bread with honey! and yes, I was up a pound, even though my overall calorie intake was within my goal. The carb goal was way out of wack of course. Today has been better I think, but I will be back tomorrow for more encouragement from all of you.

Dare2Bellieve, what do you use to bread your chicken in?

KnitOrMiss-I just read your post, and I am really concerned that you need to see a metabolic/bariatric physician. This is someone who can not only help you lose the weight, follow your nutritional needs, follow your metabolic needs along with the hormonal needs that seem to be giving you such problems. I agree that the…

Good for you for telling that Doc what you thought. It is so easy to tell other people that they are not trying hard enough when they have no idea how hard one is trying. I too have health issues that make losing weight difficult. I have been eating between 1200 and 1500 calories and have been exercising six days a week…

I too have fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, and ostiopenia. I swim and walk on a tread mill and it seems to work fairly well. I most certainly have to pace myself on all activities or I just get too tired to do anything. If you can't swim because of shoulder pain, have you tried getting a kick board and just kicking. Walking…

Hi everyone! I think that I will join the challenge as well. I am doing about 50 min three days a week on the tread mill, and about 70 min 3 days a week swimming, but I need that one day a week off. Will see how it goes, just let me know what I need to do.

Thanks for posting this, it is very helpful.

I'm now off to the pool to swim for a while, after my granola breakfast. The water is easy on my joints, and swimming doesn't hurt like other things do.

Depending on how limber you are, I have found that pilates have been helpful. Also, going to the gym and doing reverse situps has helped me. (leaning over a padded bar with you feet hooked under another bar, and lifting yourself up) Not sure that is a good explanation, but the best I could do. If you are a swimmer, dolphin…

I started a week ago, and am doing well with my calories and exercise, but I have yet to lose anything. I suppose it is a bit early, and I will keep it up, but it sure is harder to lose weight at 60 than it was at 30! I want to lose about 40 lbs, hopefully by the end of the year, and at least 20 by August. We will see.…

Next week it will be 39 years! Commitment is the key. You made a promise, keep it.
