So I was so freaked out I might plateau and instead I lose 4 lbs! I weighed myself on Saturday and I was up about a pound. Today, I'm down 4 (from last week). I must be fluctuating in water retention. My fat % went down and I weighed myself on 2 scales.

Thanks all. I haven't actually plateaued yet, but it's a bit of a fear. I've had "no-loss" weeks though, but luckily, so far, they've only lasted 1 week.

You can't post links to pictures that reside on your local computer. You need to upload the picture to a website, like photobucket and then post the links.

I would agree that your calories are too low, but it seems like you should have lost weight. The only thing I can think of is that you have been a chronic yo-yo dieter, which can affect your metabolism. I'd say to increase your calories.. and after a few weeks add some activity (walking is a good start and can burn quite a…

No one said it was outside the realm of possibility. But it would be incredibly difficult to do. Certainly there are SOME calorie dense natural foods (nuts, avacados), but most are not. And I think the previous guy's statement that, "If they are vegetarian and fat it's likely from eating too much high-calorie dense food…

Depends on your opinion of artificial sweeteners, I guess. I think diet soda is better for you than regular soda. Regular soda (which I enjoy on occasion) is sugar water. It has almost no nutritional value, yet costs you 140+ calories. At least the diet soda is nutritionally empty, but almost no calories. Both have…

Have you tried to eat too many fruits and vegetables. It would be VERY difficult. For example, to hit 2000 calories, I'd have to eat over 20 apples!!

A banana has about 100 calories. I think most of us can fit that into our diet. I eat one every day.

For me it's not so much about what I eat or what exercise I do. If you are in a calorie deficit, you should lose weight. For me, success (I'm not done yet!) so far has been: 1) Setting concrete goals and re-reading, checking them, etc daily. 2) Staying on course no matter what. No bad meal or bad day (so far) has taken me…

I like Skinny Cow. Is Arctic Zero similar?

Check out the brand Skinny Cow.

Make your own. A pizza can be pretty healthy. Whole wheat dough, tomato sauce, low fat cheese, lean meat.
-
For me it was about 9 weeks, but I also started at 361 pounds. If you were losing 2 pounds a week, it would be closer to 15 weeks.

That's some crazy caloric pizza! :) Little Caesars is only 280 a slice. Probably still not "healthy", but not bad. We've been making our own pizzas. We generally use whole wheat dough and reduced fat cheese. For meats, we'll either add turkey pepperoni or turkey sausage. If you have any of the following near you, you can…

It's definitely of a low-carb failure story. I couldn't keep to a low-carb deprivation for the rest of my life. It resulted in me gaining back all my weight plus some. I suspect many people are unable to stick to a low carb diet for life. Are there people successful doing it? Sure. But I would never do it again. Especially…

Here's a fail story. I did Atkins back in 2003 to lose weight for my wedding. I lost about 50 pounds and I felt great. After the wedding I went back to eating like I used to and not only gained it all back but added a ton more on top of it. In fact, I ended up weighing 73 pounds heavier than my starting weight (so gained…

Finish Power 90 (90 days completed). Start new 90 day commitment to an exercise program These are in some ways more "results" than goals, but hope to: Get into the 310s (currently in the 320s) Get my BMI under 40 (related to above) Fit in XXL shirts (currently wearing 3XL) Fit in 46 pants (currently in 48)

Since last summer, I've lost 46 pounds. That was bad. I remember having a hard time getting out the couch (literally). I feel a lot better now, but still not good. Still feel fat and uncomfortable, but there's definitely been progress. My fitness has also increased. I remember when I first started Power 90 and I would get…

I'm heavy, so I burn calories faster. I do Power 90 and then walk over 3 miles a day. If I was 150 lbs, I probably couldn't easily burn 1000 either.

I just use aerobics, low impact. My HRM showed a higher burn than MFP for aerobics, but it works for me.

I don't pay attention to when I eat. I have regularly had a snack within a couple hours of sleeping. I've been consistently losing weight. I think it has to do more with your calorie deficit over a 24 hour period than the meal timing itself.

I believe... pudding = dessert.

I remember when I was travelling through Europe and was hanging out with some Aussies. One of them said, "I was so pissed last night!" and I wondered for a few minutes what he was so angry about. :)

I was heavy when we met... lost weight for our wedding -- then gained it back plus a lot more over the years. I'm pretty sure she finds my body less attractive over the years. And I'm pretty sure she'd find it more attractive when I lose weight and get more fit. I don't need to ask. I know. But I also know she loves me…

Calories in... Calories out. That's my philosophy.

She said it was fun, but felt it was overpriced for what you get. I still may check it out myself.

Back in July of 2011, I started to feel really big. I had no idea how much I weighed at that moment, but I felt terrible and out of shape. I remember that over a few days I noticed that I was having a hard time getting off the couch (literally -- physically). I felt like a pregnant women in her 39th week. :) So I bought a…

Great job. Very inspiring. You look like a whole new person.

None so far, but here are future ones. In no particular order: 1) Fit in just about all rides at amusement parks 2) Fit more comfortably in airplanes (I'm tall, so this will still be an issue) 3) Be able to shop for clothes at a regular store and not in the big/tall section 4) Not be embarrassed to be shirtless 5) Never…
