Thanks everyone for the belated birthday wishes  @Megan: Way to go!! Jogging 2 miles without stopping is freakin AWESOME! Way to rock it :flowerforyou: @Kan: I agree with what Megan said - you are fighting a lot of battles right now, and I really don't want you to get discouraged because of what that evil scale…

Good morning ladies!! Well, I have been totally MIA for the past week. It was my birthday this weekend - which was tons of fun :drinker:  if not exactly healthy :grumble: I knew going into the weekend that I was not going to be good - and now I'm paying for it on the scale! As I see it what goes on WILL come back…

I'd suggest bringing your own beverage so you don't even have to go up to the snack stand! Good luck!

@Rachel: Here's the recipe I use for my hummus base: http://mideastfood.about.com/od/dipsandsauces/r/hummusredpepper.htm Tahini was hard to find for me. Turns out it can be found in the organic section of the grocery store, but I picked mine up at a middle east food mart. The roasted red pepper is a really good flavor, but…

@Melissa: it's so great that your race has the kids marathon option. I'm sure you and your daughter are going to have so much fun preparing for it and running it!! @Meag: there's not too many details to give. He's a boy, not "the boy." We met at the end of last semester and stayed in touch over my school's epic long winter…

@Kbellnurse: The walk it off DVDs sound like a great idea to use while it's still so cold out. I'm a big weather wuss too. I've been using some cardio videos that I've found online when I'm too much of a wimp to go outside or to the gym (have to walk or bike there...) I've had a lot of fun with them - I hope you do too!…

Good morning!! I just recalculated my goals on here because MFP suggests you do that every 10lbs you lose. They took away 60 calories a day!! grrrrrrrrr. I liked those 60 calories!! guess I'll have to make the best of it lol. @Rachellynch: I love working out to Katy Perry. It is definitely my guilty pleasure. I find…

I'm feeling really good about today!! I've been avoiding going to my gym because I either have to walk or bike there and it's cold and icy and just really unpleasant outside. I know that those are just excuses, but I'm not letting them be excuses for being inactive anymore. I've been using internet workout videos which…

JANUARY RECAP: January did not go well for me at all. I got very sick about halfway through the month, which is about the time that I fell off the face of the earth (and the January thread). I lost at least 4-5lbs (in a little over a week) while I was sick because I couldn't eat. Then all that weight rebounded plus a…

Way to bust those pushups out at 4am, Meag! Seconding both new emoticons. W2D1: 4+6+4+4+5 = 23 toe push-ups (just couldn't push that last one out on the max set - but I'll get it on Tues) Great job peeps!!

Keep it up ladies!! W1D3: 4+5+4+5+4 = 22 toe push-ups! (messed up the order of the sets a bit, but it came out about the same in the end)

Selfish post for the meantime - be back later today to respond to you Kick *kitten* Crew! So an update on my temptations yesterday: I did well for lunch. My friend and I met at Cosi and I had a half sandwich and salad. They have menu and nutrition facts online, so I planned out what I was going to eat before I went (I…

Angels, congratulations on the awesome loss so far! I understand the thinking behind ambitious goals - but I think it's good that you've adjusted your weight goals a little bit for this month. You'll do fantastic regardless! It's great that you found this topic and some of the ladies here were able to answer your…

This is going to be short right now, hopefully I can come back later tonight and catch up with more of you. Spellbinder, Congrats on W6D3 of C25K - you have a lot of dedication to hop on the elliptical after running for 27 min straight! WTG, girl :flowerforyou: I just started the c25k program yesterday and while I can't…

W1D2: 3+4+3+3+5 = 18 toe pushups!!

@ Meag, I found a bag of mixed frozen stir fry veggies that I really like sticking in the oven: sugar snap peas, carrots, onions and mushrooms. Also all your cooking sounds fabulous. The apple muffin tops and coconut/blueberry oats sound so creative! And nice burn today. @Ngoat, WTG! knocking out that turbo jam dvd after…

W1D1 = 2+3+2+2+4 = 13 toe pushups!

Yay for the return of QOTD! My favorite healthy snack is a cup of frozen veggies drizzled with some olive oil, sprinkled with garlic, pepper, etc and baked for about 10 min in the oven. I'm usually home for lunch so I have it cooking while I eat a sandwich and eat it afterward. Also I love hummus - I've been making my own…

I'm going to restart this challenge (one of my January goals is to get back into the exercise challenges that I fell out of during December. BUT I'm going to try to follow it doing real good form pushups rather than knee pushups. I did my exhaustion test today and am at a Rank 1. Starting W1D1 tomorrow!! Welcome to the…

Here's my December recap: 1) Cardio (30 min/3x a week): Didn't do so well on this goal. I got sick right after finals and still haven't really gotten over it. :frown: Being home with the family for the holidays led me to take walks around the neighborhoods with friends I haven't seen in a while, so that was healthy and…

Hi Kick *kitten* Twenty-somethings! I have been really horrible posting on this thread for December - but I have been following along with you girls and guy when I can. Finals are FINALLY over and I survived the trip back to my parents' house, so I feel like I have time to devote to this site guilt-free again  I…

Tj - it's a deal! I went ahead and started W4 tonight. I'm pretty relieved that my roommate wasn't home because I was grunting pretty loud by the end of the sets  I could NOT get through the entirety of the max set. The program called for at least 16, and I pushed out 14. The rest of W4 looks kinda scary,…

Hey ladies (and gentlemen, now!) I miss this thread so much and am so amazed at how quickly it is growing. I have been keeping up with it, but just haven't been able to find the time to sit down and respond to you all. But this is my post saying that I am coming back. This is going to be a quick, selfish post - but I…

I'm interested in starting C25K soon - but I'm a student and am planning to wait until my classes end (which is the end of this week, yikes!) I would love to be your C25K buddy! I like being in challenges with others because of the accountability, and the company. I'm a little nervous starting the program at the beginning…

I definitely fell off for the end of this week. It's Sunday night and I decided to do W3D3, even though it was on Wednesday that I did W3D2. Something feels off about my form, I'm not sure what, but it just doesn't feel right for some reason. Great job on your sets ladies!! :flowerforyou: tj - I feel you about the toe…

So I used Turkey Kielbasa for this recipe - but the original called for turkey sausage, and you could cook it with ground turkey or shredded turkey or whatever. I don't know if this counts as a Turkey recipe??? Can I play??? The original recipe was from this website:…

Try this blog: http://livewell360.com/2008/11/30-day-oatmeal-challenge/ It has links to 30 different ways to eat oatmeal. Something that I've been doing with my oatmeal lately is adding pumpkin puree to it. I make 1/3 cup of oatmeal, add 1/2 cup of pumpkin puree and a little bit of maple syrup for sweetness. It's delicious!
