I hear you, ashleynicoleb! I'm a senior in college - and I have to say that I very much enjoy drinking socially. I don't know how often or much you drink, but I'll preface this by saying that I generally drink (anything from a beer while watching TV to getting drunk at a bar) 1-3 nights a week . All power to you if you…

I definitely meant to introduce myself on this challenge, but I never got around to it. I'll try now. I'm Meredith, I'm a college senior living in Delaware. Just moved off campus into an apartment over the summer, and loving it! It's great to be able to buy food and cook for myself - which is making it a lot easier to log…

THANKS  I made my roommate try it, and she said that it seemed really well made, she just doesn't like that sort of cooking - so I'm taking positive feedback from wherever it comes! Peeked at your recipe, and it looks pretty tasty too (I LOVE Indian flavoring). Also, I've been looking for garam masala and can't find…

Totally understand - last month, I made my meals spicier, and it was at once really satisfying, but also it helped curb my appetite if I ate it slowly (which I had to do cuz of the heat!)

Way to go!! Keep up the good work!!

Here's a link to a group that I just joined - it's a challenge group for twenty-somethings, maybe it's what you're looking for! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/123922-too-chubby-for-my-twenties-october-challenge I recently came back to mfp also (around mid Sept I think). I'm 21, in my senior year of college, my…

I was going to ask: How did you do that!! But now I see the [img][/img] coding in the reply box - good to know for later  Thanks!

I agree, this cooking challenge is a lot of fun and a great source of ideas and inspiration! Knowing me I would've never cooked with chickpeas tonight - probably would've ended up cooking ANOTHER chicken breast, because that's what's easy. But I did, and it was a GREAT decision, I am happily eating a Moroccan flavored stew…

NAME OF RECIPE: Moroccan Rice Stew * Inspired by a recipe off of Food.com (http://www.food.com/recipe/moroccan-spaghetti-very-low-fat-and-healthy-301361) - I changed and eliminated ingredients due to preference and availability in my pantry. INGREDIENTS: 1/2 cup of uncooked brown rice (makes 1.5 cups cooked) 1 yellow…

Wow - just looked it up, that looks fabulous! And I have all of that stuff in my kitchen/pantry all ready! I am definitely going to try this - not for the challenge though, it's yours :)

Haha - thanks! Hummus is a staple in my fridge - I love it on sandwiches instead of butter or mayo, etc.... adds some great flavor!

Chick peas!! Great choice :) I have a can or two of them in my pantry already from over the summer when they were on sale. Haven't cooked with them yet... but I do have a basic recipe (Chickpea Pasta with Almonds and Parmesan) from a few years ago when I was living with a high school friend for a summer job. If I remember…

Update! I wore the jeans that I accidentally put through the dryer over the summer and have been uncomfortably tight ever since last night. And they were comfortable!! Either something that I'm doing here is working - or they finally loosened up a little. Either way, I'm happy!

How about picking a healthy food of the week, and challenging ourselves to cook with it?

I think that a cooking challenge would be fun! I try to cook as much as I can, but it's not as often as I would like. Maybe this will help me cook a little more often. I've been trying to diversify what I cook too - usually just do some variation of chicken breasts (buy a lot, then freeze and thaw as needed). I'm in!

Thanks! !  You're exactly right about all the other benefits to working out! Last night I was able to go to my yoga class - and let me tell you it kicked by butt! But I felt so good for the rest of the night - well, not my muscles, but my mood was awesome

Welcome Courtney, I've had a profile on this site for a while, but I recently got back into it. I've found that its so helpful in keeping me accountable - which is definitely something that I need while I'm in school. Good luck on your journey and everyone on this site can definitely help you stay motivated and positive…

I want in on this!! (I know it's starting the second week of October - but I've never joined a challenge before, and this one seems perfect for me - hopefully all you lovely people will let me tag along). My goal is by the end of October to lose 5 lbs, and finally be under 160! Also, even though I'm in school and my…

I'm in!! It's so hard for me to get myself out of my apartment on Saturdays - I just want to veg around all day, especially after a week of school - which means that I'm constantly tempted to graze throughout the day. I'm so glad that I saw this topic! I usually don't exercise on the weekends (it's easier to fit the gym…

Wow - sounds delicious!! I'll have to save this one for later :)

I used to work at Curves and I think that it is a great decision! I definitely agree with what has already been said: the work out that you get at Curves is the work out that you put into it - and that's really so that any woman can use the machines safely and effectively. Having had the experience of a conventional gym…
