One of my friends who I met in my WLS program was sleeved at 180lbs. She's 5' tall though.
-
I never even considered RNY. I chose the sleeve because a very close friend of mine had it in Apr 2012. She has lost 175 pounds and is now at her goal. I had my surgery 2 weeks 2 days ago, and am down 20 pounds. I have 70 to go.

You're not weak, you're human *HUGS* Don't be too hard on yourself. This surgery alone is an emotional rollercoster add in everything you're going through, and your bound to be having a hard time. I know I am an emotional eater. When things are down, I turn to food for comfort. Coming home after my surgery, I was a…

That was a hard one for me to get used to. I was NOT a breakfast or morning person. Now I always eat breakfast within an hour of getting up. When i'm working (I'm off right now until Sept) I have a protein shake every morning. Since I've been off, my schedule is all over the place, and i'm recovering from my surgery (2…

I agree with Syntrax Necatr. It's like koolaid. I get mine from nashua nutrition.com

I agree popcorn can be dangerous. For me personally, it's an "only at the movies" thing. And going to the movies happens maybe 2-3x per YEAR around here LOL I'm not worried about it becoming an issue for me, since it's such a rare treat :)

It's interesting how all diets are so different. For example, saltine crackers ARE on my pureed list. So are refried beans. Cheese is definitely not allowed though :)
-
No, I can't have scrambled eggs yet :( I have to wait until 4 weeks according to my program. Boo!
-
Mango, when did you try popcorn again? That sounds heavenly to me! I can't wait to have popcorn again :)

You just described me, minus the crying. I was in a major funk. My hormones were all over the place though. I had MAJOR regrets for the first few days. I had my surgery on Tuesday June 24. I woke up on the Saturday after my surgery, and just decided "enough is enough" I realized THIS is my new normal. There was nothing I…

My dietician told me I could have popcorn at 6 months. I can't wait! LOL

British Columbia, Canada!

I don't have that milk here, i'm in Canada. I am adding protein powder to everything. Even skim milk. That was the first thing I had in the hospital. Skim milk with added protein powder. I even sprinkle it in my pudding. I also made an awesome "smoothie" yesterday. It had 1/4 frozen banana. 1/2 scoop of protein powder…

Oh, I am getting in enough fluids, I should have specified that I don't know how much protein, calories, etc i'm getting in. I'm eating my popscicles 3-4/day. I'm also drinking my water out of a 12oz cup. I'm drinking 12+oz of plain water. I'm also having soup (1/4 at a time, usually 2x per day) and i'm drinking "diet"…

June 24 for me! Just got my date this week!

What province did you have the surgery in? I'm in BC, and i'm part of the West Coast Bariatric program. I haven't had surgery yet, i'm still going through all of my classes, tests etc

I did ideal protein. It was very expensive. I lost 55 pounds in my first 5 months, then I started to struggle. I had a hard time staying on the plan. It's VERY restrictive. You cannot cheat at all, not even one bite. I kept gaining and losing the same 5 pounds. I finally stopped doing it, mainly because I was paying…

I have a fitbit zip (the basic one) and I love it!

I meet my surgeon on June 5, I am hoping to have my surgery in July. In a perfect world, i'd go at the end of June, but realistically July makes sense.

I have been quite surprised at how supportive my family has been. I didn't tell them for 18 months LOL I had my referral sent in, and I told them after I went to my orientation and had already signed all the papers. :) That was in January. I am hoping to have my surgery this summer, and it could possibly interfere with our…

I will be seeing the surgeon on June 5, I am hoping that I will get my date shortly after that. I am ready to go, just need to get my date!

It is possible for you to avhieve your goal! A very good friend of mine has lost 170lbs with her sleeve. She is currently at around 150, 5'6", and wears a size 6. She is having panni surgery (tummy skin removal) in June, and will probably lose even more! Don't let them tell you what you CAN do! Believe in yourself, and use…

THIS makes me feel hopeful! I am currently preop, I meet my surgeon June 5, and am hoping he will give me my date shortly after. I've been preop for almost 2 years. Plugging along with my bariatric program since Jan 2014. I've had my ups and i've had my downs. If it wasn't for knowing I WILL be having my surgery, i'm sure…

"And it's not disgusting!!" HAHA That made me laugh!!! Not disgusting is always good! LOL

That's a great idea! I need to find this Chike brand i've been reading about! So far i've tried: Click (YUM! VERY Coffee tasting! But I have to stick to decaf, since i'm not doing caffiene at the moment) Syntrax Nectar (LOVE the juice ones, but not the cappucino or chocolate) Syntrax Matrix (Meh, not my fave, won't buy it…

I can't WAIT for this! I hope it happens to me!

Do it the other way around. Put the water in, then the powder. Shake the crap out of it, then let it sit for a few minutes for the foam to go away. This is how I make my nectar, and I have NEVER had clumps in mine. It always blends SO nice. I'm guessing yours didn't blend because the powder was on the bottom, and it stuck…

Thank you for you reply! I can't remember when I can have yogurt, that's not really my concern LOL I will check my book to see. I was just worried about the seeds. Good to know about the staple line. I'll be sure to ask my surgeon :) I'm just trying to get all my ducks in a row now LOL I don't even SEE him until June 5!
