  • Ahh . . well . . . this is a tough one for me, but it sounds like you need to look for some prepackaged foods like tuna and crackers, applesauce or fruit cocktail, fresh fruits, etc. Perhaps a trip to the grocery store when you have some time and walk the aisles. There must be nutritious prepackaged food you can get. You…
  • Hi, I am doing WW and also logging my foods here on MFP. I count points, weigh and measure my food the WW way and then log them in on MFP. I enjoy the motivation and support I get here, but when all is said and done it's WW that wins out because it works for me. I agree with some here that say pick a program and COMMIT to…
  • My comment is in regard to portion control. That's one of the keys I learned at WW. I do not mean to imply that you are not watching your portions because I don't know. As a reminder be sure to read the food labels and see what the serving size is. I make sure I'm within my serving sizes and daily points when I plan my…
  • Thank you for posting this. I have written them down. Let me emphasize that it is important to pay attention to portion size. If you don't you'll just be sabotaging your efforts if you sit down and eat the whole bag, bar, or container. Portion size is one of the keys to losing weight.
  • Mother always advised chicken soup and rest. I usually go by how I feel when it come's to working out when sick. I usually don't want to at least for a few days. I'd say don't push yourself too hard your body is trying to fight off the bug. Listen to your body.
  • Perhaps he admires your commitment and sees your progress. Just because he didn't notice you before is not a reason to write him off now. You could be missing out on a great friend. I understand when you say " you didn't want to date me then, why do I want to date you now", but I hope you'll be a little forgiving of others.
  • "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" . . . you are a shining example of the golden rule. You have a compassionate spirit, don't ever lose that. It sounds like you have "been there, done that" and know what it's like to be down on your luck. Congratulations on pulling yourself up. Stay with your church…
  • HOLY TERRIFIC GIRL! Congratulations! Keep that maintenance going. You don't want a repeat performance of the before pictures, you've worked too hard to get where you are. GREAT WORK! I'm very proud of you.
  • I am also a walker and do Yoga twice a day. I do Yoga stretches when I get up in the morning because it helps relieve the ache's. Just gentle stretching helps limber me up for the day. Then again in the evening doing longer stretches. It does help relieve my lower back pain. I find I also sleep better and don't wake up as…
  • Welcome Carlos. That is one scary looking pup! Is he/she a working dog? (Like a police dog) He/she is very pretty, what kind of dog is he/she? Anyway, you will find lots of support on this site. Perhaps you could tell us a little about yourself and your weight loss goals. That will help you find friends with similar goals.…

  • Obviously I don't know how this works. I was commenting on ROBYN_T's Main Coon Cats, but no one would know that the way I put it in. Now you do!
  • I was about to ask if they were Maine Coon and then I saw where you included that in your comment. I have a 10 year old Maine Coon and I see some of the same features in your cats like the big fluffy fur. I've read that Main Coons are the dog of the cat world. They love to be where their people are and that's so true with…
  • Hi Taylor, Welcome, this is a great site to get help and motivation. You have already been given both. Here is my contribution. Losing weight is a COMMITMENT to yourself. You are in CONTROL of how it goes. Tracking is an excellent way to see where you need to make changes. As someone else has already said, be honest with…
  • I encourage you not to quit. I obviously don't know your lifestyle, but may I make a suggestion? Can you carve out an hour some day just for you. Make an appointment for a massage. (no kidding!) Let them pamper you. Totally relax and let your mind drift away and let go of that stress. If this is not possible perhaps you…
  • Congratulations on your weight loss. What perseverance you have. Be proud! That was very rude of her. It sounds like the woman was feeling guilty and was trying to bring you down to her level. Perhaps you should have asked her if you could help her lose weight.
  • Hi Jocy50, I'm new to this site too, but you can add me as a friend. I'm a Grandma too of four beautiful grandgirls. I'll join that Grandma Club too. I hope the encouragement of others will move you towards your goal. I believe we can all do it together. So far I am liking this site a lot. Loislaine61
  • Good for you for starting right away lottaheat. I'll look for your post tomorrow. Hope you'll list what steps you've taken and how you feel about how it's going. See you tomorrow, Your friend, Lois
  • Hi, my name is Lois, I'm 67. I'm not going to be much help to you when it comes to exercise, but I can make a few other suggestions. I hate exercise and the only things I will do are walking and Hatha Yoga (stretching). All that jumping around is not for me, but I figure if I'm moving I'm burning calories. My suggestions…
