  • I saw one show to see what it was all about. ICK, not wasting my time on it. :noway:
  • Hi Suzalyn, I am single and over 50. I'm so over the 50's that I'm in the 60's. I too grew up thin, very thin! With the years came the weight. It sneaked up on me because I was used to eating anything whenever I wanted to and it never affected my weight. In 2008 I lost 30 pounds and was able to maintain. In the last…
  • Are you bragging or complaining? You don't sound like someone who wants to lose weight.
  • Hi Bob, You can add me as a friend if you like. I will be glad to help encourage you. :drinker: I'm so sorry you have had a stroke, but it sounds like you are fighting back.
  • Congratulations, you look fabulous! :drinker: :flowerforyou:
  • I suggest you don't start by losing 20 pounds. Start by losing 1 pound a week, then 1 pound & 1 pound, etc. I call it mini goals. That's how I lost 30 pounds, 1 pound at a time. If you look at the big picture often times it's overwhelming. Hope this helps. :drinker:
  • Southern Missouri, the Ozarks where it's warm and sunny :glasses:
  • What are you gripping and ripping?
  • I'm with the spelling/grammar group. Lately I've seen in several different places the word "probably" spelled "prolly". :grumble: Really? I thought I was missing something so I looked it up in Websters, it's not a word. Another pet peeve is rude people. There's no need for that. :noway: By the way, just so you know, the…
  • You look fabulous! Gorgeous dress. I love the way it drapes across you. I have no doubt you'll reach your goal.
  • I too looked at your pictures and you have not only lost weight, but have reshaped your body. You look GREAT! Folks will just have to get used to seeing you this way, the new normal. Congratulations on your success.
  • ...and you may add me as a friend if you like. :drinker: Lois
  • Hi Evy, I am an ex WW as well, but I still think like I did while going to WW. I eat raw veggies every day but don't put them in my list of foods because on WW they are free. I just put it in the notes section. One of my favorite snacks is Fiber One 90 Calorie snack bars. There is also a Fiber One Brownie that is just too…
  • You look marvelous. I like the shorter hair too. I wish you success on the rest of your weight loss. Congratulations and thank you for sharing your pictures.
  • This is one of the funniest things I've read in a long time. Thanks for the giggles group.
  • Welcome to MFP. You've come to the right place. Good for you for taking charge of your health. :flowerforyou: The more you use this site the more success you'll have. :drinker:
  • As you can see you are not alone in your age group. I am 67 and just have a little bit more weight to lose. You can do it, you just need to commit to it and make it a priority. MFP and your friends will help. The Food Diary is so easy to use, you don't even have to calculate calories it does it for you. Just make good food…
  • My name is Lois Elaine. As a kid I was a big Superman fan. One day I realized if I dropped the "E" on my middle name I could be "Lois Laine too. The 61 is the month and day of my birth.
  • Nothing tastes as good as thin feels  I have read the above suggestions and they are all great. I use the one about drinking water instead of eating something. Hobbies are good and can distract you from thinking of food. Take a walk even if it's just out in the yard. Your profile says you have young children, you…
  • I'm so sorry to hear you lost Fletch. No you are not nuts. You go through the same grieving process losing a beloved pet as you would losing a family member, because he was a family member. You can't hurry the grieving process so give yourself time and you'll know when it's time to move on get back to your life. Take it…
  • DanielleRN8, I looked at your picture gallery and I think you look amazing. Put that bikini on and get out there on the beach! Don't dwell on the pear shape, be confident and know that you look good. Often times when we lose weight we still see ourselves as we were and not how we are now. You've done a great job losing…
  • The experts tell me weigh-in once a week.
  • Your welcome! I see you found a few friends.
  • Hi, I'm a senior, although I don't feel like it. I've been on MFP for 21/2 weeks and I love it. I don't have a lot of weight to lose now but I'll be glad to support you. Send me a friend request if you like.
  • You are an awesome person. I hope you get a ton of friends. :flowerforyou:
  • South central Missouri.
  • My X is also a very nice person. We're just not right for each other anymore. I struggled a long time with my decision.
  • Pamela, You just wrote my story. 23 years for me. As you say, at first it was good, but as time went on things deteriorated. We had several rounds of counciling. When he came home from work I never knew who was coming through the door, Mr. Charming or Mr. Enraged. For my own mental health I had to leave. I can't offer any…
  • I'm one of the oldies and I've never noticed any ageism. My friends are of all different ages. Lois
  • Hi, I went to WW too for three years and I kinda miss it, but then I found MFP and I like it a lot. I lost 30 pounds with WW and they taught me how to make wise food choices and portion control. I got to goal and became a Lifetime member. I was faithful for two years and then my life spun out of control and I gained some…
