  • I have the exact same problem. I wear a HRM tho, and I actually burn more than the machine says. I set the level to 20 or 25 tho, so it takes a lot of effort to keep it moving. Actually reminds me of a stair climber when it's on that high level.
  • Probably slightly more than just watching TV?? I would think it doesn't count for anything. You're sitting down (unless it's like Wii Fit or Dance Party or something)
  • I haven't gained anything since I started lifting weights, but I'm not losing much anymore either. I lost 40 lbs in 4 months. I didn't start lifting weights until about 3 months in tho. But each week I can feel my clothes getting looser. So that's all that counts. I was happy to get a big chunk of weight off in the…
  • looked mine up, it's actually $27.77 I think it's fine. I feel like it's acurate. On the reviews someone said they have to come to a complete stop to get their HR, but I don't have that problem. And some people say they have to dry their finger to test it, but I actually think it works better when it's sweaty. For the…

  • I haven't read the reviews, but I got mine from Walmart for $28.88. I haven't seen the reviews, but I like it. I think it's called sport line or something. I think it works just as well as the $100 watch my boss bought.

  • If ride an exercise bike, I hardly burn any calories. I wear a HRM watch and I can hardly get my heart rate up at all. But, my boss rides the same bike and her heart rate is pretty high. So, personally, I would burn more walking. But I guess it's different for everyone. I bought my watch from Walmart for like $28.88 or…
  • At my old bootcamp we did a lot of arm exercises with no weights. Hold your arms out to the sides & do 10 small circles to the front, then back. Then 10 big circles to the front, then back. Arms out at sides, up to clap above head, back down/up etc 10 times. Arms out, and forward clap at chest level 10 times.....basically…
  • Also, when I am around sweets, I think "do I want this to be my "cheat" for the week?" Usually, whatever it is is totally not worth it. I can think of other "cheats" that I'd much rather have. Then I end up not cheating at all, I hold out for a longer than a week, cause I REALLY want to make it special lol
  • JUST SAY NO. :-) I was at a birthday party, and the mom said "have some pizza!" and I said "NOOOOO!" and she was like "oh yeah sorry." Then came the cake-she says "have some cake!" and I pointed at her and said "STOP OFFERING ME STUFF!" and she laughed and said "omg, I'm sorry, I keep forgetting. Well, have an orange" I…
  • (just want to clarify that I did not eat all but 2 slices lol my fiancee ate like 1/2) also, how about what's in your car??? lol I have a box of girl scout chocolate peanut butter cookies that I had ordered before I was ON again. I have not opened them, and they have been riding around with me for at LEAST a month, maybe…
  • 2 slices of pizza from Sunday. I had a cheat after eating good all week. I did not touch the left overs though. Now it needs to get thrown out.
  • oh! forgot lunch! I use either Pepperidge Farm thin sliced bread (73 cal for 2 slices) or Natures Own Double Fiber (100 cal for 2 slices) and make a turkey (60 cal for 2 -3slices) sandwich or turkey burger made with 99% fat free ground turkey (120cal/1g fat) and I eat baby carrots (35 cal) or half a raw red pepper (15 cal)…
  • I usually have 1 packet of instant oatmeal (made with water-I like apple cinnamon) w/ a half banana sliced into it. I eat that while I drive to work. It's 190cal. Then I'll eat another piece of fruit when I get to work. Orange (50 cal) or grapes (20=60ish cal). TOTAL=240-250cal Another option is an egg sandwich. Microwave…
  • I eat those tortillas too! And I also eat one whole egg plus 2 egg white. I had trouble logging my eggs at 1st, because each time I clicked on one of the choices, it was WAY off. So I guess it depends on what is going into your omelet. Something I eat for breakfast (usually just on weekends) is Cranberry French Toast w/…

  • I've never tried juicing. What about the calories? I know it's all natural and stuff, but if you are trying to lose weight, it seems like that would be a lot of calories. I always hear you should EAT your fruits & veg. A glass of fresh squeezed orange juice has way more calories than eating an orange. But, I really have no…
  • when I was getting too many carbs, I did things like only 1 slice of bread for my sandwich instead of two. Carbs come from fruit and veg also, so they add up quickly. I don't eat any pre-made meals personally, so I don't know how they add up. But I try to add in more protein (meat, eggs, cottage cheese...) and less bread.
  • well, I guess telling you to put lemon in it won't work lol. I like water, and when I do want a little flavor, I put lemon in it. So I guess I can't help.....sorry:ohwell:
  • I definately don't deduct what I would've burned sitting around. It never occured to me. BUT if I was eating all of my calories back, I probably would think about doing that. My thing is set on 1280 cal/day. I actually aim for 1500 tho. So I guess I eat back about 220 of my work out cal.
  • My old trainer said everyone needs one cheat per week. Not a whole day, but just a meal. Some weeks I don't, but usually it falls in unexpectedly. One time I went like 3 weeks THINKING of what I REALLY wanted. lol I didn't want to waste my cheat on something that wasn't worth it. I gave myself a donut a few weeks ago, for…
  • My fiance would be perfectly happy eating at McDonald's or Burger King every day (with a little Shane's Rib Shack on the weekends). Actually, that's exactly what he was doing when we got together. I cook for him most of the time, but I still make things I won't eat (ribs, spaghetti, etc) I make my food separate, like 90%…
  • I only count intentional exercise that is in the fat burning zone. 65-85% of my threshold (or whatever it's called). If I do weights, then it doesn't even ask for you calories. But when I was lifting weights, I was staying in my 65-85%, so I thought those calories should count. I know my heart rate goes up when carrying in…
  • Suppose to be 8 "8oz glasses" of water. Most glasses are bigger than 8 oz. I drink about 4 bottles (at least, usually 5-6) per day. A 16.9oz Dasani bottle (from the 24 pack) is a little over 2 "glasses" of water. My trainer told me that the water I drink while working out does not count tho. That's just replacing what…

  • I don't eat my exercise calories either. I eat a little more if I did weight training, but not cardio.
