Good morning. Glad those of you who celebrate thanksgiving had a lovely one. And Gail , what an absolutely gorgeous photo! So happy you enjoyed the wedding. I also totally agree with being grateful that even though weight wise many of us are around the same place as last year- the fact that we did not gain still is very…

Sorry Suzy, I am probably one of the worlds worst cooks so don’t have any recipes to share. Hope your tendinitis is feeling better. My mother was moved from the hospital to hospice yesterday where I just heard she is not doing well. I was supposed to be flying there on the 28th for my nieces wedding, but moved my flight…

Thanks so much Suzy, Gail, Vail and Snoozie for your empathy. Turns out my Saturday was far worse than my Friday which helped me keep my Friday news in perspective. My sister texted me to let me know my mother was taken to the hospital from her assisted care with a 104 fever and was diagnosed with pneumonia from her…

Suzy- lol about both your hubby and the potato advice . So funny :D :D :D Thanks Snooozie for the interesting article. You are always a wealth of helpful information ! So sorry, but I have to vent about my sucky Friday ( is sucky a real word? If not it should be!) so I go to my morning dentist appointment fo get my teeth…

Suzy- what a beautiful view! Thanks fir sharing your photo and great job on the hike :) Milove - great job sticking to your commitment! Vail- totally agree about hormones wreaking havoc on our efforts. On the more humorous side, thought I’d share a photo of how I picture you riding your bike and reading :D

Thanks for your understanding Vail. Recomposition is the perfect word. It’s crazy to lose weight and go up a size at the same time ! I hear you about the gaining fat and losing muscle+ too- I had always maintained my muscle while losing weight before as measured for me at Canyon Ranch, but I highly suspect that is what’s…

I just read through the last several posts to catch up. I don't mean to be so sluggish about posting and checking in. I keep meaning to do it, and then think, Oh I'll wait until I have a little more time so I can give more detailed and engaging posts, and, well, you know how that goes. Anyway, I think what I'll do is just…

Happy Canada Thanksgiving to you Snooozie and anybody else from Canada ,

OMG Snooozie- those puppies are soooo adorable!!! Thanks for sharing the photos- really brought a smile to my face :) I raised three puppies in two years. First got Jake, then Lucy , but Lucy turned out to have a very bad temperament ( we started calling her Lucifer instead of Lucy lol) , so I had to give her back to the…

Milove- so glad the high reading pressure turned out not to be an issue ! I see my optometrist at least once a year at this stage of my life. No pressure problems at this point thank goodness, but small cataracts keep causing prescription changes in addition to monitoring a new issue with what is referred to as mascular…

A BIG congrats to you Suzy!!!! That’s absolutely awesome!!! Vail- I have been on Prozac before and I must say it really did make a difference in lifting my spirits and helping me stay feeling positive during a very difficult time. My only problem with it, or any SSI type meds, is that they exasperate my restless leg and…

Thanks Suzy and Snoozie for your kind words and encouragement <3 Vail- fantastic job!!!! you inspire me :D Snoozie- as far as healthy yummy food goes, I just picked up some delicious crab salad at the market as well as a couple of spinach feta croissants :)

Howdy Hatters. apologize for the hiatus- needed a break I guess. Haven't been abandoning all things healthy- I'm glad to see that some of my lifestyle changes have stuck and I'm comfortable with them. But, interestingly, slacking somewhat just doesn't seem to work for me in the long run. This is nothing new for me, but…

Yum Snooozie and Suzy! Since I am not known for my cooking, I went to one of my favorite markets yesterday and picked up a yummy spinach and feta cheese stuffed croissant for dinner last night and some delicious lobster salad which I enjoyed for lunch today, as well as a yummy california chicken salad for tomorrow's lunch.…

Good afternoon Hatters! It's been awhile since I've been on the site, but I did catch up with everyone's posts. Happy to see all the ipom moments :) Life has been a bit crazy here with Bob's kidney and my sinuses, but I am happy to report that Bob got over his kidney infection so was able to have his lithrotripsy…

Vail- didn't realize you lived in England . That's awesome. My lineage is from wales and Ireland. Suzy- welcome home , for a little while anyway ! Sounds like you are really getting around . While I'm envious of your travels, I hear you about it making it so hard to stay on program. Gail- great job on your mindfulness this…

Thanks for the reminder , Snoozie. I do so miss the out in nature 20 minute walks vs the indoor track, but not enough to get my night owl self up and energized at 5:30 AM before it's too hot lol. Luckily, being semi retired, I do get plenty of opportunity to have some "me" time, but as you mentioned, I need to focus on the…

Suzy -boy oh boy can I relate to your scale frustrations. Good for you for still staying the course! One thing that seems to help me in breaking a plateau is upping my protein percentage in case you are interested. Snooozie - how kind of you to add pleasure to someone else's day. What a great IPOM moment. As far as the…

Snooozie- what lovely photos and how serene. Thanks for sharing. Nice job on watching your posture while walking. Hope all goes well at your doc appointment. Suzy and Gail - I misspoke- the family that was recently swept away had been hiking at Tonto National Park and were in a well known swimming hole when they were…

Glad you enjoyed the pics Gail. I didn't take those , although I enjoy photography and have always been interested in taking shots of our monsoon storms with their lightening shows. And you are absolutely correct- those flash floods are dangerous. A friend told me just yesterday that an entire family was swept away in…

PS. The Monsoons have finally arrived, bringing some awesome storms and lots of rain which helped tremendously in putting out a nearby fire in the mountain that had been raging for a week. Now we just cross our fingers that the lightening doesn't start any new fires! But you gotta just LOVE the rain and cooler temps!!!

Hi there Hatters! Sorry I've been so MIA. Enjoyed catching up with the posts and all the IPOM moments. Gail- I definitely need to move in with you along with Snoozie because I can't stand lima beans or cornbread! I didn't know there were different kinds of lime beans, but you wont catch me near any of them lol. I do…

Looks like lots of great IPOM moments going on - how fantastic is that! I think it's so important to give ourselves the pats on the back that we all deserve. I apologize for being so MIA. It's been a busy last couple of weeks, but I have been reading everyone's posts at least. As far as personal progress, the scale hasn't…
